We have stayed in this hotel for a week and it is not what it seems (the pictures of the hotel do not show what the hotel really is about). When you check in the general area looks okay, but when you go to your room you see the dirty carpet in the dirty hallways. We had a room on the 5th floor, which, like the hallway, was not clean. The floor felt dirty, the doors and walls had stains, dirty kettle, a lot of dust, the curtains felt dirty, there was drawing on the wall and the door in the bathroom was also broken (a crack?). Furthermore, the room is very old and does not feel clean at all. You keep this feeling throughout the hotel: not clean, which you would expect from the photos of the hotel. The air conditioning works, which was the only positive thing about the room. The staff was also not very welcoming (except for 1 lady at breakfast, who worked very hard and was very nice!). On the penultimate day we asked what time we had to check out and the person behind the desk looked annoyed at us and gave a very short answer, which we found extremely unfriendly. Also, the staff of the front desk is hidden behind a high desk, you hardly see them and they occasionally look at who is downstairs. This is not welcoming at all. After the first day you also notice that the general area downstairs is not cleaned properly: the water point is not cleaned often (it often overflows, but the person behind the counter does not come to clean) and the cups at the water point are not replenished/cleaned up. There is also an elevator in the hotel, but it broke during the week and is extremely small (the two of us had to cram). The cleaning carts are in the hallway all week, which makes the hallway even smaller. In addition, the hallways are not cleaned at all (I saw a half-eaten candy lying on the stairs and after 4 days it was still in the same place). The breakfast is okay, but that was because of the hard working lady there. She made sure that everything was refilled and stood with a smile at breakfast, which feels very nice. She was the only one of the staff who gave us this feeling. Besides all that, the hotel is very far from the center but it is very close to the metro station where you have the right metro line to the sights (you don't have to change and within 20 minutes you get off at the Louvre). The neighborhood on the other hand does not feel nice and is very dirty .. We didn't eat something in the neighborhood for fun, but went to the center every time, which feels nicer.. All in all, this hotel is not what it seems. It is not clean and certainly not what they show online. I do not recommend.

This is the lowest quality "four star" hotel I've ever stayed in. The accommodations wouldn't have been a problem at all if this were a cheap motel. But for a four-star, 419 euro per night hotel, I hoped for clean rooms, helpful staff, and some perks. As you can see in the photos, the walls of the family suite are stained with brown streaks and the carpets are filthy in the rooms and lobby. A lot of the furniture was in mild disrepair. Perhaps this is the norm, so maybe it isn't fair to complain about it, but we also got two twin beds pushed together instead of a normal double bed. I'll be the first to admit, my mother is somewhat high maintenance--she wants advice about where to go, she wants to kick back and have a glass of wine, she wants the buffet to be well stocked if she's going to pay 14 euros per person for it. But for the price, you would expect the staff to accommodate high maintenance older ladies politely. In New York, if you're paying $500 a night, people act happy to serve you, even if they are not. We were given a single room key although we were a party of three with different schedules and plans, and it took a couple days for the staff to agree to give us a second one (the first two people refused, saying it was against policy, which may be true but...why is that the policy?). Anyway, I would not consider myself a particularly harsh critic (you can check my other reviews), but this was the worst cost/quality ratio I have ever encountered in any service industry. The picture of the candy bar sums it up.

The hotel is in a side street just on the edge of Paris 12th district. The elevator is super small and so are the rooms, how much will you like it depends on how much you pay for it. The staff was friendly helpful and the breakfast was really good also compared to higher standard hotels. The air-conditioning worked super well especially when you need it most. For Paris level the room was also very clean. Location yes maybe not the best but we'll connected to public transport.

We booked this hotel through the BW website, and it turned out to be the most affordable option given its location and proximity to metro and tram stations. The check-in process was smooth, and we are grateful to William for his professionalism. We stayed with our family in two rooms for five nights and were given the highest, 6th floor, as requested during booking.||The triple room, intended to accommodate two adults and a child, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, so we were offered a free upgrade to a more spacious family room on the second floor, thanks to the forthcoming and helpful approach of the manager, Violet.||The hotel itself is somewhat outdated, with small rooms and tiny bathrooms, half-detached curtains, etc. The tiny elevator, which could fit only two people at a time, added quite a bit of nighttime noise and vibration to one of our rooms located next to it. However, the rooms were equipped with modern air conditioning, which made it unnecessary to open the back windows for fresh air—especially since, instead of fresh air, you could often smell cooking odors from the neighboring buildings’ back doors.||The buffet breakfasts were rather poor and did not meet the standards expected from a BW Plus hotel, nor those of travelers who prefer more than a croissant and a cup of coffee for breakfast—especially considering the price of €18 per person. It was quite annoying to have to ask for bread repeatedly and receive the same nervous reply, “I will check,” only to be given 3–4 slices of bread for several guests. Joceline, the lady in charge of breakfast service, seemed to spend more time staring at guests and waiting for requests rather than replenishing the food. Sometimes, she even declined requests nervously, well before the official breakfast closing time. This was the first time we felt genuinely uncomfortable with BW’s food service, as it almost felt like we were taking Joceline’s personal food rather than enjoying a prepaid hotel breakfast. We believe the management should address this issue promptly if they want to encourage guests to have breakfasts at the Hotel rather than eat elsewhere—which, in fact, many tourists chose to do.||Fortunately, there were several good dining options nearby, as well as a well-stocked supermarket just a one-minute walk away. The neighborhood felt safe, and we had no concerns about security at any time.||The location of the hotel is excellent. It is only a 1–2 minute walk from the Porte de Vincennes Metro station, where you can access Metro Line 1—the main line that easily connects to all the major sights of Paris, including Notre-Dame, the Opera, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and even to trains leading to Versailles and Disneyland (with a simple line change). Metro and tram tickets can be purchased directly at the Porte de Vincennes station entrance. Note that at some busy stations, such as Opera, tourists may be asked to show their tickets, so it’s advisable to buy them in advance to avoid fines.||Overall, Best Western 61 Nation is an average hotel offering decent prices compared to other chain hotels in Paris. Its convenient location and the responsiveness of its management are definite strengths that make it a reasonable choice for...

  • B E W A R E ** What a Joke .... this property in USA would be -1 * (Star) They advertise as they have parking. However, the parking is a mile away on the street.Or underground, which costs $48 per day. Size of the room, That's another story. I thought I was back in Japan. It is so small, small beds that normally you would put up eight year old barely fit. The room where in #104 You turn the shower. It sprays on the outside of the shower glass door when you turn the faucet, it sprays all around the sync. Instead of going straight down, not counting the soap in the shower does not even work. My wife used the blow dryer. It blew the whole circuit. How to go get a manager to reset the GFI Breakers. I don't know about refrigerator however, putting a drink in a metal box to keep warm instead of getting it cold does not constitute a refrigerator. When I brought the issues to the manager the 1st day he stated. I'm not in United States. Where everything is big and new? Which is pretty sad? When the items I was complaining about should be bare minimum should've been fixed For everyday people to use. My last night I parked next to the hotel by the front door I even asked the manager on duty if the spot I parked was a parking space he stated, Yes, well, it ended up to be an $88 ticket I received in my email from the rental car place.

I hope they read my comments and adjust the items. I stayed in other hotels in Paris. They were nowhere close to this particular hotel, which was honestly. It's worse than a Motel 6 in United States. I will never stay at this place again. The only thing missing was...
