So where should I start, I'm currently visiting the hotel from 18.04. until 22.04. I booked a small double room for two people because I booked a small double room in the grand amour two years ago. This was perfect the service good, bar and restaurant too. Well, you can't compare the two hotels with each other. The room in the small amour hotel does not reflect the image of the hotel, not the vibe. It is a wood paneled single room. Have looked into other rooms which are beautiful but our room does not fit into this hotel (403). I reported my dissatisfaction twice to the front desk. They couldn't give me another room because the hotel was fully booked and I was told that they would contact me again if there was any news. I'm leaving tomorrow and unfortunately no one has contacted me. The mini room with the wood paneling that doesn't match the hotel isn't worth the money. Today we only wanted to eat a croissant for late breakfast at a quarter to 12, but they weren't available for hotel guests anymore. Were all gone. That shouldn't happen. And in other comparable hotels, perhaps even in the Grand Amour, they would have given us a drink or a bottle of Prosecco at least in the evening in the cool restaurant for these circumstances. But I have to say, the restaurant is much cooler than in the...
Read moreI used to come to the Hotel Amour for a nice dinner or lunch every time I am in the city. It is a cool, trendy place with a lovely terrace or veranda in a courtyard with lush green. While the setting is really nice and special, with many hip people around, the quality of the food served is inconsistent. Sometimes, food is just great, but at other times, the same dish can be mediocre at best. The last time I went, I ordered beef tartare, one of my favorites. The tartare was OK, but the fries that came as a side were pathetic. Worse that fast food fries after microwaving. We complained, especially as I had the same dish in the same place a couple of months earlier, and back then, it had been great. Unfortunately, we were told that the chef had been delivered a batch of potatoes that don't fry well, and that there was not much to do about the situation. The way the staff handled our complaint did not really please me, so I was left with a feeling of not being valued as customer. There are so many other great food choices in Paris that I doubt that I will go back to the hotel Amour to eat. This will not hurt them, as they are very busy, with or without...
Read moreI got recommend by two friends to stay here. One who lives in Paris and one who had stayed here some years ago. The hotel is basically a few hotel rooms on the floors over a very popular restaurant. This makes the feeling very genuine.
The restaurant is good for dinner (or breakfast/brunch (to a comparable price as to what you can get outside the hotel in Paris) we were never disturbed or annoyed in anyway that the restaurant was at the ground level. I would say the other way around: a very lively hotel lobby.
The hotel has quiet much and interesting art in the lobby and interesting common areas.
Every room is unique and this without feeling cheap or bad in any way. Usually I don't like when rooms feel too unique, but here I liked it.
I don't know about the other rooms but in our room (blue) there was only a mini room for a toilet. Both the sink and the bathtub/shower was in the only room (where the bed is). No glass or curtains, just right openly in the same room. We were fine with that but did not understand this in advance. So either check this before or just enjoy the freedom and...
