This coffee shop seemed decent enough at first sight. However, the hygiene of the place left us wanting (this is just another euphemism for how dirty everything was, despite looking clean from the outside). The service was extremely slow. The waitress handled money from another customer, then proceeded to cut bread, touch our food, handing them over to us as if nothing had happened. Another waiter dropped a butter roll on the floor (albeit packaged), then proceeded to put it back on a plate that went out to another customer. It was very obvious the woman serving us thought she was making us a favour by giving us cutlery. As we ordered a set menu, we finished everything and proceeded to get cake, at which point we asked for spoons only to be told to "go get them yourselves and also pay for your custom at the till". Needless to say, we didn't feel this sort of 'service' deserved any sort of tip. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but I am yet to see so much incompetence in one place....
Read moreWhat has happened to this place? First, it takes more than half an hour until an ordered breakfast egg is boiled; then it takes another 10 minutes until it is served (then it being cold, obviously!). Moreover, and this is 100% unacceptable: if you as client (and direct neighbor, by the way!) ask the waitress, when your food will be ready, her response is unfriendly and rude : «si vous n’avez pas le temps, vous devez aller chez McDo.!» . Service like that is the beginning of the end for each restaurant! Even other staff members noticed the unacceptable behavior. As owner of this very nice place, you should please be extremely vigilant : once you will have ruined the relationship with your previously loyal neighboring clients, you will start loosing the support of the whole quartier and will become empty, bare of any charm. Please wake up and start recognizing neighboring clients as what they are: good clients! Give us back Marlette as place to be, not as...
Read moreNo time to test the food since the personnel was rude! We arrived on a beautiful sunny morning, sat outside and waited. And waited. The table had still crumbs but no one seemed to have noticed. We stood up again to read the menu on the window, chose, and then figured we had to go inside to order. And so we did. At this point I must say the place was almost empty and three people were "working". And so I started the order. "There's no grapefruit juice!" came out from the side (not the person taking the order). OK so I changed. Then "which coffee?" I turned to my wife to get her answer, but that's when the same loud and angry "waitress" slammed the plastic menu on the counter and walks away saying "otherwise there is a drink list!". I stayed stunted for a few seconds due to the aggressivity and rudeness of her behavior. I canceled my order and we walked away. In Paris, there's choice. And certainly no time for bad...
