Bistrot Smiley — Restaurant in Paris

We came here for breakfast around 10:30 AM. We walked in and said “a table for 2, for breakfast please “. The staff told us we could sit anywhere we liked. We sat outside and we’re not given any menu. After about 10 minutes of waiting, a waitress arrived and asked us what we would like to order. We told her we were never given a menu. She left and came back 2 minutes later with a menu. She gave us about 5 minutes to order, came back and took our order (no problem here). However, about 5 minutes after taking our order, she comes back and tells us the kitchen is closed until 12:00 and we can wait until then, otherwise, the only food for purchase is a croissant. Why does their staff not even know the hours of operation of the kitchen? Why did anyone bother seating us if we specifically asked for food when we walked in? Definitely won’t be...

I recently visited this bistro with my wife and daughter, and I have to say, it was a terrible experience. As soon as we walked in, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke that completely ruined the atmosphere. My wife, understandably, didn’t want to stay in such an environment, so we decided to leave before even ordering anything. However, I felt obligated to get something since we were there. The coffee I had was absolutely dreadful, and honestly, it felt like I was just paying to use the restroom. This place is sooo good that we went twice during our trip to Paris. The first time we found it a group of locals came out of it very happy and saying how good it was. With mg limited French I was able to understand them and I knew we had to go in and it was very worth it.

The prices are very good and the quality is perfect. The entrecôte is top. We also tried the lamb. Also the fact that their menu is only in French is a very good sign. This was the food we enjoyed the most...
