Jules Café Restaurant (Paris 5) — Restaurant in Paris

Waitress was not very friendly to us . Compared to the French couple next to us. I guess this place does not welcome tourists as much as they do the locals . (She asked them how their food is a few moments after they started their meal. She asked us way later after we started) Our steak was tough . I kept spitting out each bite I took. It Came with FRIES . No sides of veggies . The only good thing was the wine. And we paid an expensive meal for that . Left hungry and went to another restaurant close by to eat again . Waitress said no smoking inside , but she was smoking in the outside eating area while we were waiting for our food and the smoke was coming in the indoor area. I’m sure the others who gave amazing reviews indeed had great experiences in this place. That’s why we came . But unfortunately it wasn’t the same for us . Call me uneducated, but the toughness of the steak(although is wasn’t ribeye) can’t be enjoyed at all. I hope this is taken constructively as it’s obvious there are not many negative feedbacks. Ended up here accidentally with no expectations or thinking much of it but oh my! What an absolute 5/5 or even better experience! The place is beautiful and atmosphere fantastic and immediately welcoming. The food was amazing and they even had vegan!! options, which were clearly marked on the menu - something almost unheard of in Paris. I had some orange wine which was so good I ended up buying a bottle of it for home. All of this was already a 5 star experience but on top of that the service/ people working there were just above and beyond lovely, professional and super helpful! I was in a bit of a weird situation and they really went above and beyond to help me make the best out of a bad situation! Never had better service not only in Paris but probably anywhere and with the absolutely delicious food, wine and overall great setting, I cannot recommend this place enough! Will definitely be coming back and bringing...

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was truly outstanding — even better than in some of the most popular places in Paris. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with soul. The service was warm and heartfelt — you can feel the care in every detail.

We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a generous discount on the bill — something we didn’t expect at all! It made the evening even more special. It might be a good idea to mention somewhere that there’s an % offer — it would definitely catch the attention of new guests. For us, it was such a lovely and unexpected gift.
