We chose Hotel Le Pavillon after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and seeing the Travelers' Choice Award for 2024. We stayed in the Studio Apartment for 6 nights. If you are looking for a Parisienne experience with access to hotel amenities, this is the place for you! The hotel's studio apartment is in an apartment building that is attached to the main hotel. Locals seem to live in the other apartments. ||||We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel while we explored the area before check-in. The young man at the front desk was polite, helpful, and courteous. When it was time to check-in, he helped carry our luggage up to our apartment. The apartment was neat, clean, and well appointed. Since the website pictures were taken, the apartment bathroom has been beautifully renovated, and the bedroom and kitchen seating has been replaced with modern furniture. Having a kitchen was convenient. The apartment exceeded my expectations. Also, being on the 3rd floor, there is a wonderful view of the top of the Eiffel Tower from the bedroom window. In our opinion and experience, it was well worth the trek up and down three flights of stairs to get to and from the apartment (since the building is old, there is no elevator). ||||Being in a separate building, we were pretty independent and did not have much interaction on a daily basis with staff during our stay. However, they were always friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on the food or service.||||The location is perfect. The street view of the Eiffel Tower is breathtaking, especially at night when it is lit up and sparkling. Rue St-Dominique is lined with boutiques, cafes, bakeries, and restaurants. A metro station is a few minutes away and the Bus 69 bus stop is just down the street. The hotel is in the 7th arrondissement, which is one of the best areas in Paris. We were able to walk or use public transportation to get to everywhere we wanted to go.||||We highly recommend Hotel Le Pavillon. We wanted a more authentic Parisienne experience versus a touristy hotel, and Hotel Le Pavillon delivered. Our stay there made our trip to Paris even more special. If we ever get a chance to visit Paris again, Hotel Le Pavillon will be our...
Read moreWow- TripAdvisor sure got this one wrong and makes me suspicious of the supposed positive reviews. First, let me say that we are experienced world travelers who know what to expect. This was the last stay in our month long European trip and by far the tiniest hotel we’ve stayed in, ever, in 45 years of travel. We had to take turns moving about room as there wasn’t enough room to pass one another while both standing.||-Location is good; many sights are walkable. Room itself was clean. Shower pressure was good if you can fit in the stall. If you’re large, forget about it. That’s all for the positives.||Many negatives:||-Not accessible. Stone stairs you must schlep your luggage up and down, unassisted.||-No refrigerator despite its being advertised. We assumed it wasn’t operational but we’re told they do not chill. Huh?||-Unwelcoming,disinterested, unhelpful staff who offer no assistance with directions, suggestions for restaurants, etc. when politely asked. Very odd, but they almost seemed uninformed about the area.||-Hotel is fairly run down and shabby. Hodgepodge decorations||-Caters to French speaking guests as some staff speak no English. This made their odd breakfast offerings (many jars, containers, packets)with no English translation indecipherable. No directions given on how to use juicer, egg cooker, etc. ||-Outdoor area dirty and unusable- nothing like pictures. We had to walk by the same pile of dog poop ||In the entryway for 3 days. Then you walk past the garbage and recycling cans to get to the front steps. Off putting, to say the least.||- They only offer liquid soap, so bring your own shampoo, conditioner, lotion, anything else you need.||||There’s nothing wrong with staying at such a hotel if you know prior to booking what you’re truly getting. We really feel mislead by the photos and maybe false reviews here on TripAdvisor and wanted to warn others from making the same mistake. We never would have stayed at LePavillion had we known what the accommodations truly were. We looked at leaving and found most everything else booked for last minute or we would have left despite having prepaid for our...
Read moreWe just spent a week at Hotel le Pavillon on Rue Sainte-Dominique. It was a small, "shabby chic" hotel in an excellent location for restaurants and bakeries and a view of the Eiffel Tower, although there was no view from the rooms (which was fine with us; the hotel was set back from the street by a courtyard and was therefore extremely quiet). The beds were super comfortable, the staff was responsive to our every need, the room was air conditioned, the shower was great, it basically had everything we needed at a very reasonable price for Paris. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. You can get breakfast as part of your package but we recommend you don't! Too many fantastic boulangeries within walking distance, plus two restaurants essentially next door to the hotel that serve fantastic breakfasts with fresh squeezed orange juice and...
