If I could have give 0 star, I would. I think there's a discrimination here with the servers. I just hope restaurant owner can read this review. I'm a cafe and restaurant owner in the Philippines too, just for the servers to know. That is why I really hate employees or servers like that who doesn't know how to respect guests, especially Asians, or Filipinos. I own other businesses in PH too, such as supplies trading, travel agency, boutique, and other e-cmmerce biz, and I really value clients and respect them all the time. So I really hate what the servers did to me here.
Reason why I wouldnt recommend this cafe even it has an Eiffel Tower view.
SERVERS ARE RUDE - first impression, super super rude, was about to seat outside with the eiffel tower view after two guests left, but the girl server arrived she was about to clean the table, I was shocked cause I was just standing, waiting for the table to be cleaned, then that girl suddenly talked rudely saying I need to clean the table first, DO YOU WANT TO SEAT ON A MESSY TABLE OR CLEAN ONE? Something like that. Do you think that is appropriate to ask? So after she cleaned the table, and took photos with the eiffel tower view by the photographer with me and have decided to just eat inside. I and the photographer asked if we can seat on other tables (4seaters) cause I was planning to order more foods cause I was supposed to wait there for my client (couple) and set a meeting there but since I got disappointed with their attitude I did not set the meeting there. I told her that I might be ordering more and the table for 2 seater might not be enough and we would have wine drink too. And she just told me that it's just two plates, and remove other plates every after eating or something like that if I heard her correctly. Or she's assuming that I will only order 1 meal each. But I know cause I was hungry that time, I badly wsnt to try some of their desserts and appetizer aside from the main dish that I'll order so it wont really fit cause the table is too small.
So I asked, how all orders would fit. Then she answered me, "THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM THEN." then she walked away, went outside to serve other guests.
Before that when we arrived inside, based from her eyes and the way they look at us she was telling about the story that happened outside when she scold at me asking me to wait to be seated even I am not hurrying. And patiently waiting, not saying anything. So discrimination it is, right?
I'm a Filipina, by the way. I just look young and small, but I am 30 years old, maybe she thinks I am younger than her for her to be okay in disrespecting a Filipina like me.
So since I got disappointed I went out and said, we'll just cancel. But then since the view is nice from outside, have decided to sit outside with the 4 seaters table. Beside the door. Then I asked the photographer to take another a video of me walking before I seat in the table where we would sit. Then I was shocked that another man (server) with a bald hair went out, another person she talked about maybe, he was screaming at me in French, I did not understand what he said but I just let it go, but I was disrespected and that was embarrassing. So I just walked away.
Then ate across other restaurant Le Centenaire, servers are fun, lively and kind there. I ate sausage with mushed potatoes there and wine, then after that I went back to Le Recrutement. Asked the bald guy who screamed at me what did he say, he said his colleague said I cancelled order then why I was seating, then I explained that I decided to eat outside but since he embarassed me I just did not. But still came back there to dine.
So I tried their steak. And it wasn't good, honest review sorry, not because of their attitudes.
So when the bald see I had multiple orders, he's already showing kindness. and being friendly, asked where I am from, even told me to write my number if I want to on the receipt when he asked me to write my signature. And the girl can't look at me...
Read moreDear Restaurant Management,
We are writing to bring to your attention an incident that occurred outside your restaurant on 28.06.2024 at around 19:00.
As we were walking past your restaurant, my wife, who is eight months pregnant, attempted to navigate through the narrow space near the corner where your outdoor tables are located. Due to the congestion with other people taking photographs at the corner, I stepped onto the street to pass by, while she made her way through the narrow gap. Unfortunately, at that moment, a waiter serving one of the corner tables turned around and accidentally bumped into her. A glass from his tray fell and shattered on the ground.
While accidents like these can happen, we were taken aback by the waiter's reaction. Instead of apologizing or even checking if anyone got hurt, he immediately started shouting at my wife, blaming her for walking there and expressing frustration. His aggressive demeanor was both unprofessional and distressing. She was so shocked that she could not respond and was visibly upset.
In an effort to keep the calmness and ensure safety, I picked up the large piece of the broken glass from the street and brought it inside, placing it on the bar countertop where the waiter mumbled "thanks" and continued his work.
We understand that the busy restaurant industry can be stressful, but such behavior is unacceptable and we believe that courtesy and professionalism should always be maintained, especially in public interactions.
We hope that you take this feedback constructively and we wish you all the best and thank you for your attention to...

My wife and I, visiting from Dublin for the Olympics, decided to dine at the recommended restaurant Le Recrutement around 7:40 PM. The restaurant was not crowded at the time.
Approximately 20 minutes prior, my wife had entered the restaurant to ask if we could sit outside. A waiter assured her with a "go ahead," so we took a seat outside, anticipating a pleasant meal. To our surprise, despite the few customers present, no one came to clear the previous diners' leftovers from our table.
During our 10-minute wait, a waiter passed by our table twice. I greeted him with a polite "hi," but he ignored me, frowning as he walked past. After this wait, I went inside and courteously asked the bartender for a menu, explaining that we were seated outside and would like to start by looking at the menu, even if the table wasn't cleared yet. The bartender, with a friendly attitude, said it was no problem.
I returned outside, expecting service to follow. However, another 10 minutes passed with no further attention, despite the waitstaff clearly noticing the uncleaned table and our presence.
After waiting a total of 20 minutes without any service or even a menu, we decided to leave. This experience was baffling and disappointing. I cannot recommend Le Recrutement to my friends from the UK, Ireland, or China and will not be...
