Someone who had access to my room stole my passport that was hidden in a scarf in my suitcase. I was away in Normandy for one night. They make you leave the key at the front desk, so they knew I was away. The key was required to both unlock and lock the room door, so it was clear that it was someone who had access to the key. There was no break-in. When I informed the front desk, they instantly went into full-on denial mode and tried to tell me I lost it outside. I purposely hid it right before I left for Normandy because I thought it would be safer there and went to find it as soon as I returned to find it missing. There was no attempt to take down information about the theft or to investigate it. They were either covering up something, or they were in complete denial about the fact that bad things could happen at their hotel. I get the feeling something was being covered up. They had video cameras in the hotel. One of them was right outside of my room. They could have easily found out who entered my room in the 48 hours I was gone. Anyone I talked to about it had the same reply as if they were reading off of a script. ||||Additionally, the shower curtain in the hotel was so dirty that you could see globs of black mildew. When I asked to get a clean one, they told me they didn't have any. ||||Really rethink staying at this hotel. It was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays of my life. Replacing my passport cost 350, which through a long fight I was able to get the travel agency to reimburse. I don't think the hotel was held accountable at all, so they will likely continue stealing from their guests. The passport on the black market got them 2500-3000 dollars. That's about five times more than I paid for my stay. There seems to be a serious side business going on here. Don't become a...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for four nights. The outer bedding was not clean, furnished with multiple stains. There was no wardrobe, or anywhere for my partner and I to hang our clothes (basic and obvious furniture for a hotel, and there was room for this). No full length mirror. No kettle. The door to the bathroom was glass and painted blue, making the door transparent, which is not very subtle. The headboard of the bed was old and chipped. The door frame in our room obviously needed painting (not a major task for a hotel in the middle of a major capital city). There was a table, chair and kitchen cupboard serving zero practical purpose; this floor space could have been utilised by a practical wardrobe. I wasn't expecting the Savoy, but basic practical furniture and simple cosmetic touches could have made this place so much better. The staff, however, were always friendly and chivalrous. Very well located to Pigalle Metro Station. Had a nice Parisian feel to the building, including an almost authentic staircase and...
Read moreI was in Paris for 4 days, 3 nights and had come across the hotel online. Was very reasonably priced so I went for the superior double room. I had read a few reviews online and was a bit sceptical but went for it anyways, arrived check in was easy, present passport and up to the room, room was the perfect size for a solo traveller, big bed with washroom - shower sink and toilet. There was a small fridge in the room which was ideal for bottled water and snacks, no wardrobe but there was a cabinet big enough to hold everything I had with me. I had read various descriptions online and some had said there was a hairdryer which there wasn't but other than that I honestly couldn't be happier with my time there. Planning on going back to Paris next year so will definitely be rebooking this hotel. Staff pleasant, room clean and spacious, location ideal and value for money were spot on. Would recommend this...
