There are no words to do this restaurant justice. The first thing I will say is that this is the kind of place that has left a lasting impression on me. I am highly disappointed that it is so far from where I live and that I may never be back in the area to try it again. We choose this place as it was the number 1 rated restaurant in TripAdvisor and we expected the stereotypical things you would expect from a restaurant that might have an ego to match. The restaurant is small, a 4 tables and 2 wine barrel tables. You could never tell from the outside what kind of amazing food was being made inside. A reservation is absolutely necessary. We went in for lunch and brought our two small children. When we came in the owner gave us a warm welcome and immediately brought my children some chocolate to eat. At inspecting the tables I thought we would be snuffed because of our children, not at all. The owner was telling us that he had been an au pair and was an uncle so he was used to children and noise. The day we went they had a special fixed lunch menu. The waiter was so gracious and he was more than happy to translate for us. Ok now onto the food. The food was amazing, we were given some croissants and baguettes with jam, Nutella and butter. Then small plate entrees. Salmon ceviche, veggie quesadilla, truffle mac and cheese were some of the things they served. It was a taste explosion in my mouth. Every new food was a new discovery. I've only had this kind of experience once before. It was food heaven. We were so happy we went. The whole experience was great, amazing food and amazing customer service. If you can go eat at this place, it will change the way you think about food. You will...
Read moreI ate at Les Apôtres a few weeks ago while exploring Paris (visiting from Boston), and it was my wife and I's favorite dining experience while there for the week. Thibault, who co-owns the restaurant, greeted us immediately at the door and welcomed us in with open arms. I speak French but my wife does not, and while he was appreciative of me knowing the language, he spoke excellent English and gave us a detailed rundown of the menu.
We were sat with a French couple who is local to the area. They were incredibly friendly and a blast to converse with. The restaurant is small and is family-style seating, so you definitely get to know those around you, which we loved (we love meeting new people in our travels!).
The food was incredible and the options were great, you felt like you were getting a home cooked meal. We got the macaroni and cheese, which seems to be a favorite there, and it was some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had. The ceviche and the quesadillas were also phenomenal, as well as the dessert. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
We stayed for awhile enjoying drinks, and I met the chef Jazz outside while we were exiting. We chatted for a bit over a cigarette, and I let him know how amazing everything was. He was super thankful for the compliments and was also just an overall great dude. I told Thibault that we need him to open a joint in Boston!
We'll definitely be...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Les Apôtres de Pigalle the week of March 25th, 2022 and the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. We were staying in Montmartre so we ate all around that area and this place was by far the best.
First, as we walked in we were greeted by the owner who promptly gave us 2 free shots of rum mixed with guava and other stuff which was delicious and really set the mood. He then got us the menu and explained it to us. We ordered the burata, ceviche, mac and cheese, and shrimp tempura. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! The ceviche and the mac and cheese were by far the best I’ve ever had. If I could, I would have given the guy my entire wallet just to continuously feed me everything.
We also ordered passion fruit and red fruits caipirinhas which were the best caipirinhas I’ve had outside of Brazil and I go to Brazil every year. During dinner the owner came over and talked with us a bit and we had a lovely conversation and he gave us more shots. After that we ordered tiramisu for dessert and, again, it was absolutely delicious!!!
When we paid the bill, we talked even more and he gave us more shots for the road. Next time we go to Paris, I will be staying in Montmartre and I absolutely will be returning to Les...
