Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the taylor hotel and would come back for our next Paris trip. Here are the pros and cons:
perfect location for exploring Paris, several Metro stations and bus stops close by, walking distance (10 minutes) to gare de l‘est we always felt very safe in the area around the hotel opportunity to store luggage when you arrive early nice restaurants, coffee shops and small stores just around the corner, the bakery close by is a must see! we didn‘t have breakfast at the hotel since there are many nice restaurants in the area very friendly staff, they always took their time to have a chat with us, they also speak English minibar (water, soda), coffee capsules, milk, tea and snacks are restocked daily and are included in the price as well as the coffee bar in the breakfast room adequate room size for Paris before our arrival we receaved an email asking which products we need (e.g. slippers, shampoo etc.), we really liked that toilettery products have a good quality, unfortunately they come in sample sizes which produce a huge amount of waste. The hotel definitely has to come up with a more sustainable solution! beautifully decorated rooms heating worked well, the room was nicely warm you can connect your phone with the television so you can watch youtube, netflix etc in your preferred language. only french tv channels ~ no adequate fan in the bathroom (with no window): it was very hot and steamy after taking a shower for a long time, so we had to open the windows in the bedroom afterwards, this way it was also not possible for our towels to dry and we had to exchange them every day, the shower had several leaks so the floor was wet after taking a shower ~ the first impression of the room was positive, it seemed nice and clean - however, if you take a closer look, the bedroom and especially the bathroom need a thourough, deep cleaning and scrub: moldy shower with scale build-up, musty shower head and greasy stains on the bathroom door. The water tank of the coffee maker also was calsified/had some weird stains, you can tell they dont clean it thouroughly. There were also old coffee stains underneath the coffee machine. ~super tiny elevator ~no soap pad in the bathroom so the sink was always very soapy and slimy ~ our room was close to a school so it was rather noisy during the day ~ unfortunately the restroom in the public area of the hotel downstairs was very dirty (should definitively be cleaned more often) and on top of that, the seat of the toilet was broken, so quite dangerous to use ~ We were a bit disappointed because the decor of this hotel is beautiful and promising but then cleaniliness is just average. This is why I think this hotel ist just average/good but not very good/perfect :-(

Read moreI was excited when booking Hotel Taylor but unfortunately the stay fell below expectation. I booked the Mini room. Granted, I knew the room would be small and in fact I was curious and looking forward to how they would cleverly organise such a small room with all its advertised amenities. The room decor was nice, the mini bar was limited but free. A nice touch I would say. The location is quiet and very convenient to travel from. Even for walking around the neighbourhood, this is a good choice. However, the bathroom was unbelievably small. I couldn’t take a shower without constantly bumping my elbows against the walls and it was hard to keep the water from flowing out because the shower area was so small and covered with a shower curtain only. Everything was really a little too compact to move around in. The room was adequate but there was almost no space to get around comfortably. This was fine with me though. Bedding was very comfortable. However, the window isn’t entirely soundproof so some noise is often audible. What was advertised was a view of the roofs of Paris. Well, my room was facing a wall and a ventilation vent of some sort. Not quite what I expected. Lastly, the service leaves a little to be desired. The staff come across rather jaded. The reception folks were nice enough but certainly not warm and rather standoffish at times. I know this is Paris but i’ve been in other similar grade hotels in Paris where the level of professional service is considerably better. The lift is helpful since the hotel goes up to 6 floors (7th in actual) but also super tiny, fitting two people only. I would hesitate to choose this hotel again, for the mini room category...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Taylor and have had the worst hotel experience. As soon as we arrived, there was no warm water to shower. When we spoke to the front desk, he just reset whatever plumbing balloon device and told us to wait 30 mins. After 30 minutes, there was still no hot water. He asked us if we used the wrong lever in the shower because “no one else has complained.” When we finally had him come up to our room, he realized there was no hot water coming out….just lukewarm. “That’s strange…let me call my manager,” who then does nothing to help us. After promising us that we will take a hot shower during our stay, we were then just offered another room with the same problem—-no hot water. I decided to let this go, maybe I was overreacting. I took a “lukewarm” shower that night.
The next day, I took another lukewarm shower.
The following day, I hear my boyfriend screaming in the shower because the water was frigid and unbearable. I was unable to shower and learned that NOW the hotel has decided to call a plumber to fix this issue. This was at 10am….so I decided to skip my shower for the day. It is now 7:30pm and there is still only cold water coming out of the shower.
I am currently counting the hours until I leave this miserable experience. No refunds, no acknowledgement, nothing. It is astounding how a hotel can run like this…..there is no accountability.
I also see a review from a month ago complaining about no hot water….so nothing has been done to fix the problem? I suppose they just book rooms from paying customers and hope for the best.
Please save your hard earned money and book your stay at another...
