Booked a month in advance, I arrived at the hotel in the evening hours on what happened to be the July heatwave of 2022. I knew something was wrong the moment I got to the lobby where I found a sweat drained receptionist who did not know a word of English and the lobby was full of people looking confused standing around.
The place was very warm. I got the key and proceeded to the top floor of the hotel via the smallest lift in the world. The lift doors opened an a wave of heat - warmer than the one outside - had hit me. Looking up, it turned out that the roof was a sheet of glass acting as a magnifying lens for the heat. I opened the door to the room, and a further warmer wave had hit me. Not only did the room not have air conditioning but even the small window was kept shut, trapping the heat inside the room. The temperature was significantly higher than the one outside. It was uninhabitable and dangerous.
I went back to reception, said to the reception guy "air conditioner?", he replied "No!" so I replied "Problem." He gestured "one moment" while he called someone on his mobile. It was clear that he was saying on the phone that "the guy at room 503 was complaining about the heat". A few minutes later, an Israeli guy that works there arrived with a huge grin on his face and a contemptuous attitude and said "what's the problem?" I said, the room is uninhabitable, it's too hot and there is not air conditioning. To which he replied while smiling through his teeth "who promised you an air conditioner?" I said, fair enough. But that room is hot and dangerous, to which he said "what do you want me to do about it?!" I said, give me refund, I'll leave, we'll part as friends. He said the room was not refundable and there's nothing he can do. I refused to leave until the matter was resolved. Some back and forth later, he agreed to give me a "voucher" to come back to the hotel at a later date.
What could have been solved with an open window in preparation of the room and a €25 fan was instead met with contempt, arrogance and poor attitude! The inconvenience of searching for a hotel in a foreign country at 7pm is not something I want to repeat. I will never step foot in this...
Read moreI visited this hotel for three nights with a friend at the beginning of April. We had fairly low expectations before arriving considering the price that we paid. Our room was basic, but most importantly clean. The maid visited everyday to make our beds and provided us with fresh towels. The hotel is in need of a bit of repairing in places (e.g damaged lampshade) but this kind of thing didn't bother us because we only needed somewhere to sleep and shower.||||The staff were accommodating and friendly. Our French is shockingly bad but we did try to make an effort. Fortunately most, but not all, of the reception staff that we met spoke good English. One man was particularly helpful as he advised us as to where we could get the train to get to Disneyland.||||The hotel is situated a very short walk away from a metro station and approximately a 10 minute walk away from Republique square where locals meet to dance during the evenings and range of restaurants/cafes can be found. ||||When we booked the hotel it said that you had to pay for wifi and use of the safe, but on arrival we were informed they were free which was great.||||The hotel was quiet. My friend who I stayed with said that she was woken up one night by other guests coming back late (I had ear plugs in so didn't hear them) but this generally happens in most hotels I've stayed in.||||The only issue really was that there was only one plug socket in the whole room which made it a bit difficult to charge our...
Read moreMy stay at the Little Hotel in Paris was overall quite pleasant.
Location: The location is excellent. There are plenty of cafés, bakeries, and restaurants nearby, and the metro station is very close.
Service: The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the stay much more enjoyable. Additionally, they allowed us to store our luggage before check-in, which was a great convenience.
Room: The rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. While they are not particularly large, they are perfectly fine for a short stay. The hotel also has an elevator, though it’s extremely small and narrow.
Bathroom: There are a few drawbacks in the bathroom. It’s very small, and the shower is so tight you can barely turn around in it. Unfortunately, there was also mold in the shower, which was unpleasant. The toilet in the corner was quite cramped, and it could use a good dusting.
Conclusion: A small, well-located hotel with friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. The bathroom is very small and could use better maintenance. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel in a great location and can overlook some minor issues, this is a...
