Nestled into an old neighbourhood, surrounded by some trendy shops and restaurants, is this fantastic market. As with most covered markets in Paris, it is a reminder of the way of life of days gone by. According to wikipedia, it was first built in 1852, but the newest construction of the present structure was finished in 1989. The old stone entryways, however, are the original ones. There are a variety of dining options offered within the market. While it is not the largest selection of food and produce, it is definitely enough for those who live nearby. One shop that I particularly noted was the German grocery store, with its vast array of beers, sweets, meats, and all sorts of German groceries. I will definitely be adding this location to my list of places I refer to visitors.

They sell some vegetables but so do lots of other places around here. The market is also surrounded by questionable cafés that look like money laundering operations. Avoid...
Read moreI don't know why "The Monocle Travel Guide Series" recommended this out of the way market. The stalls were average and the shop they recommend was filled with German chocolates. No, give this...
