This review is not to criticize the staff, they were as kind as can be. But let’s be honest: this hotel is NOWHERE NEAR 4 stars. If anything, it’s barely hanging on as a 1- to 2-star property, and only the location keeps it from being a total nightmare.||The hotel is extremely outdated. The walls, the elevators, the furniture — everything is worn and tired. There’s a lingering smell of sewage throughout the building, and even the mirrors and surfaces look cloudy and aged. Our bathtub looked dirty when we checked in, and the water heater setup is a hazard. The knob is old and unpredictable — the water came out scorching hot, I nearly flooded the entire bathroom trying not to burn myself!||It gets worse: there was mold inside the hair dryer, and the bed sheets had visible stains. Yes you read that right — stained sheets at a “4-star” hotel. |Nothing about the room felt clean or cared for.||Breakfast is served in a building across the street, which is currently under construction. Needless to say, we skipped it after the first glance. Not the kind of peaceful Parisian breakfast experience one hopes for.||Also important: DO NOT prepay. You’re steps from the Seine, close to Notre-Dame, Saint-Germain, and so many great restaurants and shops. That’s the only reason this wasn’t a completely terrible stay. If this were listed as a budget 2-star, maybe the condition would be expected — but at 4 stars?...

Transfers to the hotel were arranged through the exceptional front desk staff. |The staff at the front were always attentive, thorough, and went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. |The cleaning staff were hit and miss. Towels would not be changed, water not put out in the room, and glasses that were dirty would be left for a couple of days. |The rooms themselves were on the larger side for a boutique hotel, but starting to show their age. The bathrooms especially are nothing special and will make you rush through any shower, just to get out of the cramped quarters and tired decor. |The location of the hotel can’t be beat and is walkable to most major sights or to the metro. It’s also located in a very bustling area with lots of restaurants and shops. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more memorable. |I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in a historic building who can also accept the slight limitations of the...
