We loved this hotel, and would be happy to come again. The staff speak English and are friendly. The hotel itself is very quaint with an older feel to it; the staircase--if you don't want to take the elevator between the four floors--is spiraling with an older carpet, and the decorations include old copies of book series by French authors. Our room itself had a first-rate bed, with wood floors. The bathroom was nice as well, but here also is perhaps where the age shows a bit, because the toilet was so close to a wall jutting out that it was impossible to sit anywhere close to straight on it. And a couple of things required modification to how we would normally do things: the tub/shower had one of those plexiglass half-screens that look cool but are functionally insufficient if you're trying to take a regular shower and keep the water from getting outside the tub. Also, there were black mesh screens on the floor-to-ceiling walls that keep people in the apartments across the street from seeing in during the daytime, but likely allow people to see right in at night with the light on (since we could see clearly over there), meaning we chose not to have the lights on when we showered or went to the bathroom at night. Thankfully, there was enough ambient light with the screen raised a few inches that we could see, without being seen. We had the breakfast one day, €12 each, which might sound somewhat expensive, but was excellent. Again, a couple of quirks to deal with, but if you're OK with something a little different than you might expect, we felt it was an excellent choice, and wished we had been able to stay longer than the two days...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel de L'Avre, and let me tell you, it felt like a cozy home away from home! Nestled in a lovely neighborhood, this small but intimate hotel boasts a welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease.
From the moment we walked in, Veronica greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. The ambiance of the hotel is charming, with quaint decor that adds to its cozy vibe. It’s the perfect place for travelers looking to connect with the heart of Paris without all the hustle and bustle of larger hotels.
The location couldn’t be better! We were just a short stroll away from the train station, making it extremely convenient for day trips. Plus, there were plenty of delightful eateries nearby, perfect for grabbing breakfast or dinner. And let’s not forget the iconic Eiffel Tower — it was just a pleasant walk away, allowing us to soak in the views as we made our way there.
While we did find the rooms and bathrooms to be on the smaller side, we appreciated the efficient use of space. It suits those of us who prefer to spend their time exploring the city rather than lounging in a hotel room. If you're like us and plan to be out and about all day, this is hardly a drawback. One note, though: if you’re driving, plan ahead as there’s no free parking available.
Overall, our experience at Hotel de L'Avre was delightful. The friendly atmosphere, combined with its prime location and charming character, made for a wonderful stay. We would happily return to this little gem on our next visit to Paris! Highly recommended for anyone looking to embrace the spirit of this...

One of the best aspects of the hotel is its location. It's just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower and close to a metro station, making it easy to explore the rest of Paris. Despite being so centrally located, the neighborhood felt safe and serene, a perfect combination for both first-time visitors and seasoned travelers.
