We arrived at the end of the afternoon, the hotel didn't seem full or busy. The lady at reception on the first day wasn't really friendly, the lady at checkout on the last day was very friendly, so I think it depends who is at reception to give the first impression. ||||We had a family room, which was nice as you get 2 proper rooms. For this price in Paris it isn't easy to find. The rooms and hallways are carpeted. It seems clean at first, but I'm the type that brings Dettol wipes everywhere and they turned black. The furniture and doors seem clean at first, but upon inspection you'll see they're worn, a bit dirty, but I didn't expect much seeing the reviews where both good and bad. It is a budget hotel, nothing special, just a simple place to stay and sleep as you'll be out and about the whole day. So for us this was OK, but think we'll look for something else next time. ||||They had an safe in the rooms, but no fridge. The first night there was a dirty towel in the bathroom, the other towels seemed OK, but one had a hair on it and also found a hair in the bath. The floor wasn't clean, but we always take slippers with us to hotels. We also found a dirty pillow on my daughters bed, luckily they provide extra in the closet, so we just swapped it ourselves. The chairs had stains on them. The bedsheets seem clean, but didn't really seem to fit, also the beds gave me a backache. One room had a window street side, so that can be noisy. I also heard the underground faintly when I'm in the bathroom. It is not soundproof as we also heard the neighbours and housekeeping in the morning, so you'll need earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The door in between the rooms was really heavy, so we didn't let the kids sleep alone in the other room, didn't feel safe that they could lock themselves in. The outside door doesn't have a peephole and one of the lights in the corridor stays on all the time, it even has a sensor, so when the neighbours walk passed, 2 extra lights go on. One room had a walk-in shower (the floor was creaky), the other had a bath. The glass didn't seem to keep the water out in both bathrooms, so poor design I guess. They provide soap in dispensers, there is no hair conditioner or body lotion. Housekeeping once left a roll of binliners and the other time they left a dirty sponge. They do come everyday and change the towels, but not the bedsheets (that's OK, we stayed 4 nights). They never hoovered the 4 nights we stayed (I have a way to tell). Every room has a small kettle for tea, but the cups are paper cups, they only provide instant coffee. One night there was a weed smell in the corridor to the elevators. I read that in another review, so might be the staff smoking... We didn't have breakfast there.||||The only good thing why one could consider this hotel is the location. It's right at Place d'Italie, with the mall opposite the street and the metro also right in front. You can take lines 5, 6 and 7 and it felt very convenient. We loved the Avenue d'Italie and Avenue de Choisy as that is Chinatown with loads of good food. Would like to stay in the same location next time, just maybe another...
Read moreTHE WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! To begin with, I've arrived to Paris on the bed bug crisis, so I had to check all the beds and pillows, for my good fortune there were no bed bugs, but for my terrible luck there was a DEAD MOUSE inside the mid pillow. After checking the pillows I felt something odd inside it, so I checked it and there was the dead body.
I took the pillow to the reception and the first thing the receptionist told me was 'It is impossible', even with the dead mouse inside the pillow, the second thing was that she could not touch that because she was a lady, and ladies can't touch a mouse.
Anyway, I spoke with the hotel manager, she told me again that it was impossible so I gave them 3 options since they couldn't provide any solution: Clean the room the best way possible. Change me into another room. Refund.
They told me option 2 and 3 were impossible again... So they promised me that in 1.5 hours the room will be cleaned and sheets and pillows will be replaced.
I went out to the city for around 3 hours, and guess what? Nothing was cleaned or replaced. How do I know? Since I moved all the sheets and pillows to check for bed bugs all the things were in the same exact position.
The next receptionist went to the room and changed the sheets and pillows after that, but again nothing was cleaned.
Save your money and don't stay here.
Oh also, the stuff from our bags was moved, so apparently the staff checked out belongings. For prevention I have taken my most important things with me the whole trip.
Be careful with this place.
Update. I have no idea why this was posted again over here, but it seems it was because you tried to take it down 2 years ago.
The fact that you are still trying to blame me for this awful case is crazy. Like I explained in the first post, I DIDN'T REQUEST ANYTHING besides change of room, refund or a clean room.
But still you prefer to not take responsibility and try to picture me, as you did in the past, as some kind of scammer even when I, with all my customer rights, should have something from this horrible experience.
So basically I'm glad this was reposted so the new customers are aware of this place and the so called "clean rooms".
And thanks for this reply, going forward I will post this again if you manage to take it down.
Good luck.
My feedback is, treat your customers well and clean the freaking rooms, also teach your personnel to not look into the guest...
Read moreIt was my third time to Paris and this was the best accommodation I've had for a medium budget. The hotel is perfectly located in Place d'Italie, it is literally a few meters from the metro station which has 3 lines there so you are connected with all Paris, included a direct line to the Eiffel Tour. The room were clean enough, I like the rooms that have carpet on the floor because it's a bit of soundproof, I would have liked the carpet to be a bit cleaner but it wasn't nothing serious. Our room was towards a small street so there was no noise, we were afraid because it's so close to Place d'Italie it will be noisy but not at all. The curtains are the best I ever saw, because when you close them, there is no light coming in, it's total darkness and you can rest peacefully. There are many places to eat around, we recommend Dudule from across the street and a Thai restaurant nearby. Beware to buy water in advance because there are not a lot of grocery stores around and the small bottle at the hotel is 2.5 euros. They also serve pizza, we didn't try it because were were out every night. One thing that bothered me is that we booked our room through a third party and we had to pay in advance and there was not refund available but when we booked it said that we had the possibility to reschedule. And actually this was an option because at some point we had some troubles and we wanted to postpone the trip but when we contacted the hotel to do that, they said it's not possible even if it was specifically mentioned that is it on our reservation that rescheduling is possible. This was a bit of a hassle because the plane tickets were refunded so we had to rebook them at a much higher price. We managed to arrive and stay as planed but is was much costly for us which was an inconvenient. The trip was great in the end and we don't regret it but my advice is to establish clear policies and rules and to honer them even if it through a third party, after all, we are also paying customers. But all in all, it was a nice trip and a hotel...
