We stayed at this hotel for one night a few days ago: 2 rooms (132 and 133), 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a dog. I honestly don’t understand why this hotel gets such good reviews.||On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the ground floor reception and restaurant were spotless, breakfast was nice, and the coffee was excellent.||But the problems far outweighed the positives. The rooms were tiny, as were the bathrooms. The lift was so small it could only fit one person with a suitcase (thankfully, we were on the first floor). Both rooms stank of old, filthy carpet. The mattresses were completely worn out and collapsed, making it very hard to sleep, making creaking noises throughout the night. We all woke up aching. Worst of all, the showers and wash basins were covered in black mould. Disgusting, and unacceptable - it's obvious that maintaining cleanliness is a major challenge for this hotel.||The paid nearby parking was terrible: an underground facility in a property around the corner. It was dark, dingy, and in the morning I found my car completely surrounded by a large puddle, soaking my shoes and socks (it was dry the night before).||And although the staff were pleasant, upon checkin, I was refused use of their luggage trolley - apparently it’s just for display, just standing there at the reception. That’s simply unacceptable.||It’s clear management thinks it’s fine to charge guests while expecting them to sleep in smelly rooms, shower in mould, and deal with dreadful parking....
Read moreLocation convenient. The lift was claustrophobic ,so small ,that it could barely accommodate 1 person with suitcase .Classic room was so small, that you've to move the chair to open wardrobe loosing access to the bed the same time. No fridge in the room, tea and coffee facilities hidden in the wardrobe. One complimentary bottle of water for two guests. Staff competent and friendly. Breakfast room is quite nice and the breakfast is very good, only two waitresses working on Sunday are not enough for smooth service, but they were doing their best ,setting and cleaning and disinfecting the tables efficiently, On Monday when there were fewer guests the male waiter (age more less 50-60 years old) didn't bother to disinfect the tables. You can leave your car in the garage ,but getting there in and out is not easy ,if you are not fun of street games.:). Cost...
Read moreThis hotel was great for the two day getaway we had in Strasbourg. It was within walking distance to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had reserved a spot in the garage. The garage was easily accessible but the spaces were extremely tight (VW Golf Sportsvan). The only disappointment we had was that the room was a little small, we expected a slightly larger room. The room was classed as a superior room, which we expected to be larger but saying that the room was extremely comfortable with good enmities. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast - well, the best I have had in a hotel in France! The choice was really great, it was fresh and we'll presented. You had your tipical French breakfast, savory and warm ( scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages). I definitely recommend you staying here if you are in...
