Very nice palace in Place de la Republique. We had to traverse the park every day a couple of times when visiting Strasbourg. Every time we noticed many groups of teenagers spending the time together listening to music, drinking beer and being very loud. I assume this is one of the places they prefer to meet up. It did not bother us at all. It was interesting to watch :)

Originally, a German imperial building from the time after the 1870-1871 franco-prussian war, it now is a French administrative building housing the Commission for (river) Rhine Navigation, the world's oldest multinational regulatory institution still in existence today. Since I visited on a weekend, the building was closed, but I doubt that it's ever open for tourist visits since it's a "working"...
