Positive: The location is very good and also the hotel structure. One of the guys from the reception who speaks also portuguese (what a pity I don't remember his name) was super friendly and gave us a lot of tips about the city, also gave us a map and showed the "top spots" with plenty of details with recommendations for restaurants as well. But he was there only during the morning when we arrived and also the morning we were leaving. If you read this (we talked about Brazil) cheers for you and for your great customer orientation. Also the maganer was helpful and after talking with her about our problem she solved it very fast. Negative: Well let start, we did the checking during the afternoon with other staff member from the reception and this one was not friendly as the other one I mentioned. We traveled in one couple and 2 friends and booked one double bed room and one room with 2 single beds, once we arrived they gave us 2 rooms with double beds, so we had a long discussion about it and the guy was trying to put the blame on me about the booking, but I showed him how it was at Booking app and he said he got other information from Booking system. More discussion and he convinced us to keep the 2 rooms but one of them had one "Canapé" that was like an extra big bed, we agreed and went to the rooms. This word means Sofa in French, and we were not paying for a 4 stars hotel to sleep in the sofa so I went back to the reception to talk with the manager. In the end she informed that they didn'd have any other room and I asked to cancel one of them, so we slept 4 people in one room because there was no other option and a last minute booking would cost us a lot of money. Also one of the rooms was smelling very bad as someone had just smoke inside the room, once I opened the window there was still cigarret points there, so I took a picture and showed the manager. All this unfortunate during my birthday celebration with some friends, so I was half of the day only dealing with this stress :( Ps. Pay attention that you also need to pay extra to use the Pool, they updated in Booking system recently as it was not showing at the time as well.

I’ve been using Booking.com for years and never had an issue like this before. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and accidentally booked a stay for the wrong month. As soon as I realized, I called the hotel and they assured me they wouldn’t charge me. Booking.com told me the same: no charges would be made. Fast forward after numerous calls and emails, the hotel still charged me €241! An honest mistake can happen to anyone, and in today’s world, who can afford to pay this kind of “fine”? Especially after I was explicitly told it wouldn’t be charged. This is not just about the money—it’s about trust. If they had been clear from the start, I wouldn’t have spent hours trying to fix this. Instead, I got false assurances and was left with a big bill for nothing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If they can treat a simple issue like this with such disregard, I can’t imagine how they handle other situations. No recomendarĂa alojarse aquĂ.

Nice concept, but the execution needs a serious upgrade. Untrained staff.

Cleanliness: The room was clean. The restaurant was not: Sticky cups, dirty knife, overflowing garbage can just next to fruit platters on breakfast buffet (we were the first guests in the morning, why leave an overflowing garbage can?!?! when we told the waiter about the garbage can and dirty dishes he just laughed and said ‚this is no problem‘!), the small milk can was honestly disgusting, refill water bottles had solids floating in them
.

Style: If you like modern cosy design, this is lovely. Seems to have a lovely summer garden with nice lighting and furniture, Bar is both cosy and stylish. Bathroom tiny and dangerous (to climb out of shower there is no rail to hold on to, fine for me but my parents could not go to this hotel). Nice touch to have a tote bag, small toy and biscuits in room at arrival.

Staff: Only young inexperienced staff that felt like untrained and unmanaged temps that permanently chatted with each other and seemed not to know what their tasks are. With the only exception of one young lady with glasses at breakfast. Management not visible.

Breakfast: Beautiful fresh selection, beautifully presented (fresh exotic fruit and smoothies, excellent bread, smoked salmon that was not too salty, nice cheeses and compotes etc). Lukewarm tea water and coffee from machine, no other beverages proposed (from bar for example, as they do in other IHG hotels). Cleanliness and staff see above.

Location: Good enough to visit downtown Strasbourg by foot. Next to train station but no noise from trains. Parking: Be careful, there is no information provided prior to stay to inform guests that very few parking spaces are proposed at hotel and that one would need to make a reservation. But several public parkings are at...

Stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. I’ll get in to details why it was just okay for me.

First of all, this hotel claimed to be 4 stars, barely 3 stars in my opinion. Being a 4-star hotel, I expected comfort. I have complained about the ac being warm the first night we got in. Staff went to our room to check if it’s working properly, he said ac should be at -3 which will be the equivalent of 17 degree celcius. It was still warm, had trouble sleeping because of it. The same night the toilet’s flush stopped working and the toilet started leaking, went to the front desk ffg morning to tell the staff about it and the ac being warm. Second night, the ac was still warm.

If you are to request anything like in my case fresh bathrobes because the one that they gave us are already wet from using the spa (pool) which by the way didn’t come as complimentary (paid 9 euros/hour/person). Staff at the front desk told me to go get it at the spa, we didn’t get to the spa the ffg day because they were fully booked so we had to use the same bathrobes althroughout our stay. I’d say some of their staff aren’t super helpful at all, some are okay and friendly.

The hotel claimed to have worldclass cleanliness and they follow certain protocol because of the pandemic, I don’t think they live up to it. Our bathroom sink was barely cleaned, it had stains during our stay. They would only tidy our bed but didn’t throw out empty water bottles nor changed the sheets or even change our towels.

The breakfast is good. They had variety of selection of food. Great ambiance inside the hotel premises. I wish I could say more good things about this hotel but sadly, I could only say this much. This place definitely needs more...
