Having read mixed reviews about the food, I decided to take a plunge and book a table for a special occasion with my wife.
In short, it's a great place to go to for the views of Batumi and the sea, as well as decent cocktails. Food - I would recommend to save your money and eat elsewhere.
Longer review below.
The food we had:
Complimentary bread with some dips and grilled olives, which was on the house: it's free so you can't really complain, but the dips seemed dry and bland, and the olives tasted quite odd.
Tempura prawns starter - 50 GEL for 4 tempura prawns with a sweet and sour dip. They were ok - tasted very similar to frozen ones you can buy in a shop, so not necessarily something you'd expect to eat in a 5 star hotel.
Seafood pasta - one of the driest pastas I've ever seen, there was almost no sauce at all. Taste-wise - nothing to write home about.
USDA Ribeye steak - I wanted the cheaper ribeye but they didn't have it. Went for the more expensive version which I think costs around 50 USD. First of all, the meat they use is frozen. Not necessarily a big deal as many restaurants do it, but just an FYI. I ordered medium rare - the steak came somewhat lukewarm (it wasn't hot). Part of it was more on the rare side, whilst a thinner bit was closer to medium-well done. Steak tasted somewhat odd, I didn't enjoy it at all.
Service was also quite poor. We were shown our table and later ordered our drinks. I asked the waiter to leave the cocktail menu but she took it anyways. When it came to ordering food, there were no waiters to be seen for a long time and I've considered getting up and going to search for them - I think we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes and already almost finished our cocktails before we managed to catch a waiter.
Total cost - around 400 GEL/150 USD for 2 people who had 2 cocktails each, one starter to share and 2 mains.
Overall, it seems that the kitchen doesn't know how to prepare food and I'm quite amazed that a lot of reviews are extremely positive about the food. We cook much more delicious pasta and steak at home.
If you want nice Georgian food, go to Tavaduri - 2 people for the same amount of 400GEL can probably have good 8 meals there with drinks.
The good:
Come for the beautiful views of Batumi and relatively...
Read moreWe ate here twice within our stay at the hotel. The first evening we sat on the outer balcony. We ordered red wine which after tasting two types we switched for a whisky cocktail as both had been opened from the previous day and had a day old wine vinegar taste.
Ordering a T-bone steak to be cooked medium, it was bought out well done - also it wasn’t fresh and was defrosted according to the waitress. My wife ordered Linguini Arabiatta which she enjoyed.
Two nights after we called from our room to book a table again as the views are lovely and it’s easy to go up to eat from the room. We were told the restaurant was fully booked for the entire night. Playing devils advocate, we decided to chance this and go up anyway. There was maybe 5 tables eating at 9pm, funnily enough the rest of the restaurant was empty. They sat us for dinner with a view.
I ordered the sushi as I mentioned I wanted to taste caviar as it’s meant to renowned from the Black Sea. The sushi was bought out without caviar, so they bought it out on a separate plate after we noticed it was missing. My wife ordered the same pasta as the previous visit, and it was not the same as before, proving inconsistency in the food.
Also I ordered a steak fillet, which was dry like cardboard despite again asking it be done medium/rare.
Finally, provided the expected quality and price bracket, the restaurant doesn’t cut it as a premium restaurant on a...

We came for a Friday dinner with high expectations, especially since we booked in advance. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short. The wait for our dishes was long even though the restaurant was not busy, and when the steaks finally arrived, the doneness was completely off: “medium” was almost well-done, and “medium-well” came out fully cooked through.
When we raised this with the waiter, instead of attentive service we felt uncomfortable, as the response was dismissive and argumentative. Only after cutting into the steak in front of us was it acknowledged that we were correct. Even then, no real solution was offered—just excuses.
The view is indeed beautiful, and the Caesar salad was tasty, but beyond that, the food did not justify the high price or the anticipation.
In summary: An overpriced and disappointing experience, with a lot of room for improvement in both service and...
