We stayed 4 nights and had booked based on the previous reviews emphasising the cleanliness, quiet and service. We didn't quite have that experience. During our stay there were major renovations going on, including a breakthrough of a wall between the lounge/breakfast area and the new outside extension. That meant, 2 days of nonstop power drilling and sledgehammer work on the concrete wall to make way for the new door. even though we were away every day on excursions until at least 5pm, we still got two hours of noise until 7pm when we returned to relax a bit. I understand renovations take place but either move guests to rooms that are not directly above or at least communicate this ahead. But there was little to no communicating in general. Our check-in consisted of 3 words spoken by the owner; yes? Name? Here! being handed the keys without any word of explanation like room location, breakfast times, WiFi password (which we got off other guests) or any services they might provide. The check-in was very awkward (perhaps more so due to the language barrier) and the atmosphere during the renovations seemed generally tense at the hotel.
The room itself was as advertised (stunning balcony view), bed and bathroom were very clean, windows and floor less so (lots of dust and cobwebs, as throughout the rest of the hotel and staircases). Unfortunately there was no further service of the room over the next 5 days (no bins emptied, no basic cleaning, no toilet paper refilled, and a first change of towels was offered at 9:30pm on the 4th night before we left). We helped ourselves to toilet paper that was kept in the hallway but overall this meant our experience was that of a hostel, not a hotel. Breakfast was generous and generally included cooked food (sometimes pizza, pies), no fruit though.
The location is convenient, out of the way from street noise and close...
Read moreThe hotel is located near the center of Mestia, you can take a walk to the center in no time. But I’d say, this location is far better than right in the middle of the city, because it is very quiet, on the backwards are mountains and it’s got big yard where you can rest, play, get a tan or whatever you’d like. The owners are very sweet and attentive people. We enjoyed communicating with them very much. The hotel is clean, food are good and I would highly recommend it...
Read moreAmazing place, a bit outside Mestia which allows you to rest without hearing any noise. Amazing views and the family taking care of the place are so kind and sweet. There is a grandma part of the team and she is such a sweetheart. Since it is May the central heaters were off and it was a bit cold for me so the lady brought me a seperate heater and to my surprise it did warm up the room very well despite it being 1 degrees by night. Would...
