Staff doesn't seem to be keen at doing their job. Was told there is no indoor seat and only left with outdoor seat, left the conversation there after I said I am okay with it, didn't bother showing me the table outside. Sat for 5mins without anyone bothering to bring menu over, had to walk to counter by myself and get the menu. I ordered a chicken garlic cream which took 1h to arrive but I understand food that are freshly prepared do take some time. 2 Chinese ladies beside me kindly asked for blanket and the waitress just pointed to the shelf and ignored them. Later 3 men speaking common language as that same waitress had the menu brought to their table immediately, and she brought blankets to their table after asking for them. Why this disparity? A table opposite mine asked for the bill which took 15mins to arrive, I waited for 10mins and nothing happened.
I got sick of waiting and walked to the counter to ask for the bill. Waitress gave me the bill and went off to serve other guest. The other waitress had her hand sneakily plucked some grapes of the bunch on what seemed like a plate of seasonal fruit ordered by diners, and started eating them at the counter. Took her awhile to realize that I had placed some money on the counter......just avoid big restaurant when you are in Mestia, support smaller cafes run by polite, friendly and warm grandmas who would benefit more from your tourist dollar, for example Oma's Kittchen...
Read moreI thought people were exaggerating when they said the service was bad. Wow. To be clear, I don’t mind some subpar service, but this felt almost hostile.
We ate here twice so we got a good feel for the place. The food was good. However upon walking in, they just don’t even look at you and pretend like you don’t exist. Unless you speak Russian (or the local language). It felt very awkward to be ignored. It was clear that certain ethnicities were getting better treatment.
After ordering (and receiving the wrong drinks), we waited 1.5 hours for our bread and other sides while other tables were receiving their bread. I asked the bartender waitress about the bread, and she just rolled her eyes and ignored me (yes, this is the one mentioned many times in the comments).
I had to get up and approach the other slightly nicer waitress. She said it’s coming, but it never did. We gave up on our sides and had to ask them to remove them from the bill. It was frustrating to be ignored multiple times. The nicer waitress did apologize, which was surprising to me and I appreciated it.
Personally, it was the worst service we have received while traveling the world for 7 months. I don’t like supporting these types of businesses. It’s clear they don’t care about you or...
Read moreWe ordered three dishes, and each had its own issues. It might seem like I’m one of those people who complain about everything, but that’s far from the truth. I’ll explain in detail: If you want to eat traditional Georgian cuisine, this is definitely not the place for you. We ordered the traditional dish Tashmijabi (stretchy mashed potatoes with cheese). What we got was just mashed potatoes without cheese. This is not a matter of taste or recipes – the Georgians at the table next to us also complained about this dish. We also ordered the traditional meat pie Kubdari. We waited 55 minutes for it and never received it. The waiter apologized and accepted our suggestion to remove it from the order. The salad we received was overly salty. The waiter apologized and replaced it for us.
I rate the staff’s service and customer orientation highly. The quality of the kitchen,...
