I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vichnashi during my visit to Mestia, Svaneti, and I can't stop raving about this gem of a cafe/restaurant. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere.
The menu at Vichnashi is a delightful journey into Svanetian traditional cuisine, and each dish is a masterpiece. I highly recommend trying the Tashmijabi and Khachapuri with FETVI – the flavors are authentic and truly a celebration of Georgia's culinary heritage. The textures and aromas transported me to the heart of Svaneti, making it a unique and memorable dining experience.
What truly sets Vichnashi apart is not just the exceptional food, but also the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring you have a fantastic dining experience. A special mention to the lovely owner woman who adds a personal touch to the overall ambiance.
To complement my meal, I opted for the compote of boiled fruit, specifically peach – a refreshing choice that perfectly balanced the rich flavors of the traditional dishes.
If you find yourself in Mestia, Vichnashi is a must-visit. Whether you're a local or a traveler eager to explore Georgian cuisine, this charming cafe/restaurant will exceed your expectations. I left Vichnashi with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a newfound appreciation for the culinary...
Read moreOh, what a delightful experience at Vichnashi! As a lone wolf in this "family-friendly" establishment, I was treated to a truly unique dining adventure. Upon entering, I naively thought I could simply sit at a table. How foolish of me! The staff quickly corrected my error, summoning me to the bar to order the food there. Clearly, solo diners aren't worthy of table service here. But fear not! The real magic happened when a family walked in. Suddenly, the waitstaff sprouted smiles I didn't know they possessed! Food materialized at their table with lightning speed, while I continued to twiddle my thumbs at the bar. Pro tip: Want prompt service and a warm welcome? Simply bring a family! Better yet, bring someone else's family. Just make sure they're not Asian – we wouldn't want to confuse the staff's carefully calibrated hospitality meters. In conclusion, Vichnashi truly lives up to its "family-friendly" promise. Solo diners and certain nationalities need not apply. Remember, folks: The family that dines together, gets their food on...
Read moreWe were staying there in December and were looking around for some food, and accidentally found the place. Once you step in, you feel like a family member. Aunt Nona is the best person to make you smile. She's been polite, friendly, and hospitable. While we were waiting for our takeaway order, she gave us two glasses of her homemade lemonade, which was so nice of her. The portions were big, everything was amazingly tasty. So, of course, we returned to try more of the menu. Every time you come back, you will be feeling happy. I guess she is the type of person who can make your day and change your mood 180 degrees. Unfortunately, we had a car accident in the area, and the last day we were there, she gave us her phone number in case we needed help. Also, she gave us a gift that was seasoning that she makes herself, and I put it anywhere I cook, like crazy. Only warm feelings. Thank you,...
