I recently dined at Cafe Panorama in Mestia, Svaneti, and it was an exceptional experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere with a charming blend of traditional Svaneti décor and modern comforts. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff.
The menu features a delightful array of local dishes, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region. I particularly enjoyed the Kubdari (Svanetian meat pie), which was bursting with flavor, and the Tashmijabi (cheese and potato dish), which was creamy and perfectly seasoned. The fresh ingredients and authentic preparation made each dish a true delight.
The wine selection was impressive, offering a variety of Georgian wines that paired wonderfully with the meal. The staff was knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect wine to complement my dinner.
In addition to the fantastic food and drink, the view from the restaurant was breathtaking. Overlooking the picturesque Svaneti landscape, dining here was an experience in itself. It provided a serene and beautiful backdrop that enhanced the overall dining experience.
Overall, my visit to Cafe Panirama was a highlight of my trip to Mestia. The combination of excellent food, attentive service, and stunning views makes this restaurant a must-visit. I look forward to returning on my next...
Read moreTo be honest: this stay was one of the warmest I experienced in my whole trip through Georgia. Due to our bad planning my friend and me came to mestia with a car that definitely was not made for the roads in this area. After we got stuck several times in muddy holes and had to push the car for most of the way we got back to mestia and entered this place and were welcomed by a lovely caring woman who offered us one of the best dishes we have tried so far. Also the house wine served was awesome. Hospitality at its best.
I highly recommend coming here even if it is just for a short stop for a coffee - but better stay for more ;)
Everyone complaining about bad food or wine does not see/appreciate the effort and the love the people put in this place and in the...
Read moreUntil we ate at café Panorama I didn't realize we hadn't eaten really delicious food in Mestia. Every dish (Tsitsila (pulet) in tkemali, Tashmijabi, Phetvraali (Khatchapuri with millet), Kubdari, Trout, Svanuri Lobio (beans)) we had was perfect and the best version of that dish I had ever eaten. The wine (mix of Saperavi and Pinot grapes) was also distinctive. Not the least, the hosts and the café atmosphere made the whole experience most enjoyable. Because of the winter, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the views everyone talks about, but already planning visit in summer to enjoy the place fully. I highly recommend Café Panorama to anyone...
