Disappointing Stay with Major Issues, Especially on the First Night! I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, my first night was a disaster. Despite booking and paying for a double room, I was given what seemed to be a small single room with a double bed. The room was unbearably overheated due to exposed heating pipes (conveying hot water to the remaining rooms), even though the radiator (of the room itself) was off. Upon arrival, the windows were open, which seemed like an attempt to manage the heat. The noise from the avenue made sleeping with open windows impossible. When I called customer service around 11:00 p.m. for assistance, the representative was dismissive, offering no real solution other than leaving the windows open, in an extremely cold weather! As a result, I had a terrible night and was exhausted for an important meeting the next day. Cleanliness in this room was another major issue. The linens, rugs, and walls were dirty, there were visible signs of mold in the shower corners, and the amount of dirt and dust under the bed was unimaginable! This made the room feel unhygienic and unwelcoming. After raising these concerns, I was moved to a better room for the remainder of my stay. This room was larger and somewhat cleaner, though it was far from perfect. The rugs were still dirty, there were still traces of mold in the shower, and the lavatory drain cap was defective, causing inconvenience. While this room was an improvement, the overall cleanliness standard still left much to be desired. Overall, while I appreciate being moved to a better room, my experience was soured by the initial night (preceding an important meeting I had), the lack of adequate customer service, and persistent cleanliness issues. I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly for anyone with high cleanliness standards or needing a restful...
Read moreConveniently located for the station and not a long walk to the town centre either. The room was a reasonable size, the bed was comfortable enough and everything was clean.||However I would not stay here again. Firstly, we were relying on leaving luggage at the hotel before check-in, and had confirmed this by telephone before we arrived. A member of staff led us to the luggage lockers but saw that none had keys available. He simply said "Schade" and walked off, which is a terrible attitude to customers. We left our luggage anyway without locking it up and it did stay safe til we got back.||The worst thing, though, related to there being no carpet in the rooms or corridors. I don't know if they were waiting to have new flooring installed as what was there looked unfinished. But all night long I could hear people stomping around, up and down the corridors, in other rooms - and conversations too, obviously travelling some distance, not just from the next room. Carpet in the corridors would go a long way to absorbing the sounds, and also prevent light from spilling under the door, which helped keep me awake along...
Read moreThis hotel is a basic low price hotel with no added extras. However if you just need somewhere cheap to stay for a short break this is ideal. The room we had was basic with minimal furniture and no tea/coffee, fridge or safe. Nevertheless it was quite spacious with a good bathroom, comfortable bed and clean. The breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice but not fantastic. Use one of the nearby cafes instead. The location is very good - almost opposite the station, and only about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the...
