We stayed there with our small kids. I can only repeat what had already been said before:||- Super-ineffecient check-in process. They give you an iPad to enter all necessary information. Unfortunately, there are guests which are not that familiar working with such gadget and need time to complete the questionnaire (which is quite exhaustive). As a result, it took me almost 30 minutes (!) until I had my keys, even though I had pre-completed the check-in questionnaire at home. I do not want to blame the staff at the check-in counter for this but hotel management seems to be super-dumb that they set-up such process and are not aware that they should immediately change it. This was by far the longest check-in process I ever had in my life and I've been to quite a lot of hotels during the last 50 years .....||- Elevators sometimes not working which is unfortunate as there are only 2 elevators but many floors in the building. However, I had sometimes the impression that hotel management had closed one of the elevators on purpose.||- Breakfast room too small on busy days, esp. between 8 - 10 o'clock. However, they opened on a few days an adjacent meeting room with additional tables. I do not understand why restaurant management allows reservations on such days and the people are then only showing up at 9 o'clock whilst the table is blocked for more than 1 hour. ||- Forget the hotel restaurant. We wanted to order pasta at one of the evenings but they had already ran out of pasta. Unbelievable! I've never seen before a restaurant running out of pasta! Furthermore, I asked the waiter for the invoice but he forgot it. The personnel in the restaurant does not seem to be very qualified. ||- Strange aircon/cooling system in the room which was not working properly. ||- Good location and underground train station just outside of the building. The harbour is easily accessible by bus and the new Westfield shopping mall is within walking distance.||- Kids can play in a small indoor room or outside on the wooden boat. However, it is not a children's hotel with childcare...

Read moreLocation: Convenient located with the U4 metro on the doorsteps. The U4 takes you to central Hamburg in a few minutes. Jungfernstieg is two stops. The stop is quite close to U4 terminus so it's not that crowded.
You'll also find bus 111 a few meters down the road. The 111 takes you to Minieatur Wonderland, Hamburg Dungeon, Reperbahn, Landungsbrücke (start point for many harbourcruises and public transport boats and close to St.Michaels Church) and other central parts of Hamburg.
One stop away you'll find Überseequartier with a amazing playground with wateractivities on hot days. There is also a nice playground a few meters down and across the canal.
There is really noting to do around to hotel, so you have to rely on public transport. But if you're travelling with children it is worth it, as this first and foremost is a family hotel. If you're travelling as a couple and would like to find restaurants on the doorsteps, find another hotel.
Staff: Nice, helpful and welcoming.
Hotel facilities. Large and spacious reception. Two nice playrooms (one of them for the smaller children) kept the busy for some while. Our kids ran down while we were finishing up our breakfast.
Rooms: Spacious and clean with what you can expect. Seems to be clean. Beds are a bit firm, and we could wish for some extra pillows. We stayed in two connecting rooms. Seems to be a ventilation-issue in the bathrooms. Things literally never dried.
Conclusion: Jufa is a excellent choice if you're travelling with children, and we would probably chose Jufa again. If you're on a couples trip as a tourist in Hamburg you'll probably find a better...
