From check-in chaos to club feeling at breakfast.
Once upon a time there was a traveller who arrived near the main train station after a long train ride full of anticipation. The hotel - well located, quickly accessible, perfect for a short city break or business trip. But as soon as he had entered the lobby, the travel idyll turned into a game of patience.
Long waits before check-in, devices don't work, computer mouse is punished with hammering - after a long wait, you finally have a different turn. Instead of check-in, just a finger pointing towards the self-check-in machine. While other guests around him were apparently checked in quite classically, our hero struggled with technology. "Next step" failed, "mistake", "try again" - at some point he was back in line. I wonder if he paid twice. Who knows. From Radisson Rewards - unfortunately no sign. Also an upgrade? Misrepresentation. The room that awaited him was more of a hideout for sleep-denialists: tiny, with a bed as soft as a trampoline and pillows that must be secretly running away in the dark. The night: short, uncomfortable, sleepless. The bathroom - charmingly put - compact. Those who like to bump their knees will love it.
And then, breakfast. 7 a.m., sleepless night, stomach growls, mood hopeful - but the playlist? Pure Afterhour im Club. Loud beats instead of a gentle start to the day. Coffee? You almost didn't taste it for the bass. Conclusion: Those who are tech-savvy, noise-resistant and sleeplessly happy may feel comfortable here. For everyone else, it's more of an adventure that you can tell yourself once - but don't want to...
Read moreWe have just had a great 4 days in Hamburg and stayed in the Prizeotel. It was a 15/ 20min walk (travelling light) from the central station, we bought the all in transport ticket for bus/train at the airport info desk for 13.40e for 2 people. We later learnt the no. 3 bus is 5min to there...bus stop outside the huge Saturn building on a corner across the road from the station. It feels like a new area. We were so well looked after by all the team everyday who were polite, friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing was a bother and all went over and above. Thank you to Cathleen,Assia, Mahmud. We loved the idea of not requiring housekeeping for our time and free drinks in return. It helps to do our bit for the environment and reuse towels which is important to us. Our room was clean and bright, air conditioning and wifii great and we love the simplicity but cool design, easy to keep clean. I borrowed an iron. Grateful for free water refill, another plus for environment. Free luggage storage thank you. We didn't get to use breakfast. Loved the river walk beyond the hotel on the rhs that takes you into the city. Perfect for visiting Harry Potter as just behind. Bus, train and ferry service with all in cost/day makes this an easy location to enjoy Hamburg. We saw the queues to checkin as we left today and my husband directed people to the self checkin facility which people did not seem to be aware of. Worth being aware of same. We will check out Prizeotel in other places. Good luck to all the team. Thank you. Travel tip: remember not everyone speaks English...
Read moreI write this comment with my sincere and real feelings that I have never stayed in such a bad chain hotel in my life. That this is a Radisson investment is another tragedy!
When I entered the hotel with my wife, we were greeted very badly. We waited at least 45 minutes for check in. 3 staff at the reception desk could not even explain our reason for waiting properly. While some of them claimed that there was a problem with the system, at the same time the other was checking in other guests...
Literally 3 rude, inexperienced hotel staff who did not know what they were doing made us very nervous and angry. These 3 rude staff didn't even say an apology. They were just looking at our faces....
About the hotel... According to the facilities it offers, this hotel does not deserve its price. The rooms are very simple and inadequate.
What we suggest that about the hotel read carefully before booking. There is nothing in the rooms such as a kettle, mini refrigerator, iron or cupboard. Not even a glass of water... No water... TV is too small. Bathroom and WC are very small, just 3 m2!
The hotel is very crowded. You won't even find an empty table where you can have breakfast.
In short, this expensive hotel is a complete disappointment.
We definitely do not recommend it,...
