Villa Mittermeier — Hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

This hotel is located just outside the walls of the old city. The location is awesome as you can walk just across the street to all of the sites. Hotel staff seemed friendly. Our room was quite large and very clean. There is no air conditioning and it was quite hot as it was August and staff provided a fan. We left the windows open at night and it cooled off. The toilet is in a small “closet“ and the bathroom sink and shower are in the same room with the bed. That might be an issue for some people. We did have a problem with the shower leaking a bit into the room. Breakfast was nice with a decent selection and the option to order omelettes or eggs and bacon. Free parking was great and...

Amazing hotel, amazing location. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the customer service was wonderful. They even had free on site parking which was great. A short walk into the old city centre where all the beautiful buildings and shops are located. We paid the 24 euro per person to eat breakfast there and although a bit pricey, it was definitely worth it. We sat on the terrace and there were so many food options at the self serve buffet, including tons of fruit, accompanied by eggs and bacon that are made to serve. The coffee was also great. Eins vorab: Ich bin kein Schickimicki-Justus, der 1/10 Punkten gibt, nur weil die Dekokissen auf der Tagesdecke nicht symmetrisch angeordnet sind. Aber wenn man bei der Buchung explizit ein Doppelbett angibt und dann zwei kleine zusammengeschobene Betten vorfindet, die auseinandergleiten, wenn man bloß in Richtung Bettritze schielt, finde ich das mehr als unglücklich. Und wenn man dann auch noch um halb 7 wach wird, weil die Schritte der Nachbarn oben drüber durch die maximal hellhörige Zimmerdecke donnern, dann frage ich mich, wie dieser Schuppen bislang überhaupt irgendeine gute Bewertung abbekommen hat. Hab in manch Hosteldoorms definitiv ruhigere Nächte verbracht. Altbau schön und gut – aber wenn die Wände so durchlässig sind, dass man sich bei geschlossener Zimmertür problemlos mit den vorbeilaufenden Leuten im Gang unterhalten könnte, kann man auch Vorhänge aufhängen. Apropos: Das windige Fensterladen-Gardinen-Konstrukt, dank dem es Früh morgens (nachdem man schon eine Stunde wachgetapst wurde) schon taghell ist, verfehlt auch dezent seinen Zweck. Den letzten Minuspunkt – eine defekte Klospülung, die die ganze Nacht durchgluckert – scheint das Hotel selbst nach mehrfachen Beschwerden in den Bewertungen nicht reparieren zu wollen.

Angesprochen auf diese ganzen Punkte und einen möglichen Preisnachlass hat das Hotel an die Buchungsplattform verwiesen. Die hat aber behauptet, dass das Hotel keine Minderung anbieten möchte. Auf diesem Preisniveau so ignorant zu reagieren – in meinen Augen richtig unterirdisch, hab ich so...
