Krini Hotel: 2* if you're feeling generous. ||This hotel is a masterclass in disappointment, with Elounda's beauty starkly contrasting its own mediocrity. Let's dive into the details:||- Cleaning Catastrophe: Rooms were disgustingly dirty, with dirt marks on walls and curtains, broken fixtures, and a kettle caked in greasy dust. The bathroom was a biohazard, with a sink precariously attached to the wall and a showerhead that turned into Niagara Falls on our first night. Daily towel swaps were the only semblance of cleaning, but don't expect fresh bedding or a tidy room. Even after bringing it to the manager's attention, the cleaning standards didn't improve.|- Pool Area Nightmare: Torn sunbeds, algae-covered tiles, rusty handles, and a welcoming committee of bugs and hornets (one of which stung my partner). Oh, and the blue paint stains from the pool? Good luck getting those off in the shower. The manager's struggling to find a solution, assuring us it's a "quick fix" that's apparently taking an eternity. We even spotted a potential hornet's nest near the pool, and the manager seemed unfazed.|- Food for Thought (Not Much): Consistently cold or lukewarm meals, with basic breakfast options that never changed. It's like they're trying to make you lose your appetite. When we complained, staff would "top up" the trays, exposing the food to flies for 10 whole minutes. Bon appétit!|- Music to My Ears (Not): Ear-piercing dance music 24/7, despite our requests for traditional Greek music. It's like they're hosting a never-ending rave. Even after asking them to change the music, it only lasted a few hours before the boom box came back out.|- Staff: The only somewhat redeeming quality was the friendliness and helpfulness of some staff members. They tried their best to assist us despite the hotel's many shortcomings.||EasyJet's response? Unimpressive. Despite the hotel's false advertising, they told us to give the hotel a chance to fix things. When we asked to transfer, they offered two overpriced options (£3000+), essentially blaming us for choosing the hotel. Not exactly the support you'd expect from a booking agent. They even had the nerve to state it was the guests' responsibility for choosing such a hotel, ignoring the fact that the hotel was falsely advertised as "fresh," "clean," and a "3-minute walk to sandy beaches" – all lies.||In short, Krini Hotel is a soulless, dirty, and poorly maintained disaster. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. And if you're smart, you'll avoid EasyJet altogether. Tip: Don't believe the hype, and don't book this hotel without doing your research. One guest even called it "soulless,"...
Read moreNot quite sure where to start with this hotel, but I will start by saying it is a 3 star hotel at a push. The rooms are very run down, the showers are lukewarm at best (we had 2 warm showers throughout our entire 7 day stay), and the daily 'clean' of the room was laughable. Whilst we got fresh towels every couple of days, our sheets were never changed, our bed was either not made at all, or made very roughly & the bathrooms or surfaces were never cleaned. We got given one free bottle of water each upon arrival, and was told any more water we would have to pay for. While you were allowed tap water at breakfast, you were not allowed tap water at your evening meal, which, considering they have it available, is a bit out of order. ||However, the rooms were not the worst thing about this hotel. The food was at best passable. I am a pescatarian and the options for my diet were extremely limited. When we made the hotel aware of my diet we were told that the menu is based on what the chef can get hold of, and despite being on the seafront, we only had fish on one evening (which was completely inedible as it was coated in salt). When we asked to see what the menu was, we were told there was no menu, and we would get what we were given. The vegetarian options were extremely limited, plain and incredibly salty, often consisting of beans in a tomato sauce, boiled rice with boiled vegetables, pizza, or penne pasta in a tomato sauce. Everything was so salty that I often just had the Greek salad (which was nice) and plain bread. There was one evening, however, in which they did stuffed tomatoes and Greek peppers which, while salty, was ok. My partner had the same opinion of the meat (I.e. it being incredibly salty), and that it was often overcooked, but there were more options for meat-eaters. Considering the proximity of the sea, it would've been nice to have more fish options rather than the same dishes repeated multiple times over the period of a week. In addition, the food was ALWAYS cold. Regardless of whether you arrived as soon as the food was put out, or whether it was breakfast or dinner, everything was cold. The breakfast was more edible, but the same options were available every single day, and again it was all cold, so it would've been nice to have more of a variety. ||In terms or service, it was a bit of a mixed bag: some staff were friendly, whilst others were very stand offish and generally quite rude. ||We certainly would not recommend this hotel and we definitely won't...
Read moreWe were put in a room without a number so had difficulty finding it at first until the receptionist found us and showed us where to go. On entering, the room didn't feel clean, hair strewn across the floor, in the sink and just dust everywhere. I didn't feel comfortable enough to remove my shoes. There was also sewage water in the bathroom, which was unfortunately soaked up by one of my dresses as I used the loo. I was very upset by this and on reporting it to the receptionist (not the same one who checked us in), she said 'okay, I've noted your request and will get back to you'. We did not feel this was an appropriate way to respond to literal sewage water in our bathroom, so we decided to wait in the lobby until she reached a solution. She went up to the room to investigate and on her return said 'its only a little bit'. I was in complete disbelief at this point and responded, 'well yes, because most of it has been soaked up by my dress!'. We were eventually told we could move to a new room but were told, and her words, 'you're lucky we have a room for you to move to because we're fully booked'. Just utter rudeness and carelessness for their guests' experience. Our new room still had hair strewn across the floor, again dust everywhere, including on the floor and in cabinets. The shower rail fell, narrowly missing my head as it did while I was getting out. The biodegradable tablets as handsoap, shampoo etc are just awful. Avoid if you want a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Pool was not inviting, we did not go in, and never saw anyone in it. Breakfast was okay, but not fresh. Reheated food, including beans and...
