We stayed at Ipsia apartments at the beginning of April. A warning to those travelling at this time of the year; there is very little open in early April although this gives a great opportunity to explore the island without it feeling crowded. There are still restaurants/ tavernas open but do not expect to be able use all the facilities you would find operating during the normal season.||||The property is situated at the top of a steep (but not insurmountable) road amongst numourous olive trees and offers a lovely view of the bay below. The town is less than five minutes walk down the hill with the beach only another minutes stroll away.|| ||The apartments themeselves are very clean and well presented, each offering a small balcony/ terrace type area to enjoy the sunshine/ views. Cooking facilities are basic but functional and more than adequate (although if cooking for more than 4 you may have a challenge!). Although it has no swimming pool there is a pool bar less than a minute away (these are open to the public as long as you buy a drink/ some food).||||The owners were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Just lovely people! Anastasios (Tasos), the owner's son, was more than happy to help us arrange car hire and recommend places to visit on the island. We were lucky enough to have sampled the olive oil made by the owner George (made from the olive trees around the apartments) which was sublime!|| ||We will certainly be returning in the near future. Highly recommended. We hope you love it as...
Read moreIpsia apartments are a peaceful oasis above the beautiful beaches of Paleokastritsa with fantastic views out to sea from the south facing balconies and lots of shade in the lovely gardens. The apartments are purpose built with really comfy beds, a kitchen and a modern bathroom with proper plumbing! The apartments are naturally cool with a through breeze from the kitchen window (overlooking some old gnarled olive trees) to the French windows but also have good aircon. The owner is really friendly and helpful - happy to give you lifts to/from the centre of Paleokastritsa and tell you where to get shopping, have a meal etc. There are lots of beaches with crystal clear waters and excellent snorkelling within walking distance. We hired a boat for the day to cruise to beaches inaccessible by land with Motorboats (Ampelaki bay) - really friendly and helpful team who are very honest about the price and petrol. We paid 55 euros for a four stroke engine boat (complete with icebox, sun canopy and floatation cube to get your things to shore without getting them wet) and our petrol was just over 8 euros rounded down to 5! We noticed other rental companies charging a round 10 euros for everyone even if the tourist was only out for a few hours. Lots of nice restaurants overlooking the bay with good...
Read moreMyself and my partner had booked the Ipsia apartments quite some time ago with Booking.com. A few weeks before we were scheduled to arrive, we had pre-holiday nerves and decided to ring the apartments to confirm our booking. We were told everything was arranged and they would see us soon. Due to the fact that these are apartments and not a hotel, we were expecting to be waiting around for someone to come and give us our keys once we arrived, however we were greeted instantly. I cannot fault the lovely staff at Ipsia. Our room was beautiful, cosy and perfect for a relaxing get away. Every other day our room was cleaned which we were not expecting! We were greeted every morning and evening when we walked past the owners and if we needed everything they were at our every need. |The only issue was with the hill that we had to climb to get to the apartments. However, we just took it at a slow, leisurely pace and it wasn't a problem at all. If you need any shopping, the owners offer to pick you up so you don't have to carry heavy bags. |This was the most amazing holiday and it was all down to the lovely people at Ipsia....
