Kiki Apartments & Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I had a terrible experience here. My partner and I booked a couple days here in eager anticipation of enjoying our stay in beautiful Palaiokritstas. However, those dreams were dashed when I had to SLEEP ON THE FLOOR because the bed was super broken that it was BENDING. It was horrific, not only was the mattress rock hard, but the BED the primary purpose of booking a place to SLEEP was BROKEN.

ALSO, THE AC DOESN'T WORK. AT ALL. It is set to 25°C and the owner will tell you this is a legal issue. I don't know, maybe it is, I'm not a Greek lawyer, however I do know when IT IS SO HOT I CANNOT SLEEP. At this point sleeping on the floor in a pile of towels was a blessing because it was cooler. Honestly, I have never found another place in Greece, or the Balkans, or the greater Mediterranean area that had worse AC.

The host rented out a room that had a broken bed. The most basic function of an accommodation is to provide a place to sleep… The AC also did not work. Broken bed and broken AC. For the bed, the photos do not do it justice, but the bed was practically snapped in half. The metal framed was extremely bent, and the wood underneath had been reconstructed/reinforced by the host - meaning they knew about it and tried to “fix” it… Sleeping in the bed was not possible, and it felt like we would break it even more if we stayed on it, so we had to sleep on the floor. I had a short break with some girlfriends and absolutely loved Barbati. The apartment was perfect - near the beach, restaurants, and cocktail bar. A bakery and a shop were a stone's throw away and the lemon pie was so delicious i just have to mention it! The apartment was clean with an area to sit outside to watch the sun go down, Dora and her husband Pedros, the owners, could not have been more welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
