My family and I stayed 8 days at the Pantokrator hotel. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.|We loved the location and the hotel premises. The reception, bar and restaurant are stylish and very clean, and we loved the pool area. The view is stunning. There are many sunbeds around the pool, and most hotel customers are playing fair by not reserving sunbeds before the pool opening at 10am (unfortunately, like in many resorts, some other clients are not as considerate and block sunbeds for hours when not using the pool area). The pool is mostly quiet in the morning but often more crowded in the afternoon. The pool bar offers a very decent choice of sandwiches and salads and prices are quite reasonable. ||We have booked a standard room for 3 people and have been almost shocked when we discovered our accommodation. Straight away, thanks to the great Wifi (room 107), we connected to booking.com to check the room as it didn’t look like what we had booked. We believe that the hotel is misleading customers by advertising on their website that the 102 rooms are boutique-style (each with its own character) as our room didn’t have any charm at all. Our room was very rustic looking with very tired furniture as you will discover on my pictures taken the last day. Fortunately, we are not fussy people and still enjoyed our experience. We particularly loved the view from the balcony, the fridge and the aircon. The bed was very comfortable. We think that the cleaning team comes too late every day (mid-afternoon) but the room was clean.||We booked for half-board and have been very disappointed with the food. The morning was quite alright, but the evening was very repetitive at the exception of one or two dishes. Very few Greek dishes and we found that most of the food lacked quality. We believe that for an equivalent budget, the chefs could offer more exciting meals with a better quality of products. We would love to stay again at the Pantokrator but we wouldn’t choose to eat at the hotel again in the evening.||The management can be proud of the staff. We found everybody very smiley, helpful and hard-working. Special mention for Maria and George (restaurant) who always welcomed us with a great smile and nice words. The people at the reception were also very friendly.||We had a great time at the hotel and wish to come back in the future. Thank you for a very...
Read moreHotel is aged. That infinity picture is a good photo of what you do not see when at pool side.
Room is comfortable without offering more.
We were one day late to the hotel due to the wonderfully unclear PLF rules. Watch out when you are advised to complete before 11:59 PM. It means Greek time. If you miss the cut of there are none other than robots to contact.
If the TV does not work, be ready for a dressing down by the guy who will tell you about HDMI and why you should not try to follow the on TV instructions to fix what is not broken.
By the way if you are German TV will be plentiful. If not then good learning for others.
Play time at the pool. Should be great for families, unless your unfortunate as we are to have the resident child minding by proxy.
Playtime abuse in the water means we spent the majority of the holiday avoiding the pool, owners pushing their kid on to resident guests not good. Especially when that involves punching, kicking, poking holes in swimming gear and holding kids under water. Complain to the hotel I hear you say. But why, what difference to the next weeks guests?
We booked with an agent tool that does not allow feedback. So I put feedback out here.
Spend a little more and get down by the beach or hire a car.
Barabati is OK if you have a hire car, otherwise you are restricted to a couple of realistically walking distance Stone beaches.
Greece has the sea, weather, and views. The rest well I guess it depends.
Update. After 3 rounds of discussion with the hotel, they made appropriate steps to offer their apology for what happened. I leave the review otherwise as a reminder that responsibilities start and end with the establishment & will always be the case, those who we spoke to were sincere and for that we...
Read moreThis is a long review as I wanted to go into detail.
Location: It's 40mins drive from corfu old town and the air port, it's longer via bus. The hotel is set on a very steep hill and the higher the room number the longer the walk. There a few restaurants, shops and the beach all within a 5-6min walk. The hotel does offer good views on a clear day you can see corfu old town and Albania.
Rooms: We had a superior double but it looked nothing like the pics on the website with the only difference being it had a brown wall and was a further walk.
Food: They do have a menu on display but not sure why as they didn't stick to it, the food was very samey with very little variation each day. And with the exception of one or two things everything was Luke warm at best this goes for both dinner and breakfast. It's bit of a free for all as they don't check your room and walk you to a table so nights if it's busy then you have to wait for the restaurant to clear to be able to eat (we didn't eat till gone 8.30 on some nights due to this)
Pool area: Lovley area not enough sun beds but the view is lovely. The pool is a fresh water pool and it's cold! There is a snack bar which is very reasonably priced but very basic.
Service: Overall the service was good some stuff better then others but we had no reason to complain.
Parking: There is a main car park next to reception which gets full very quickly, if you have hired a car then you have small parking area on each level but it can be very tight and it's an awkward drive up and down.
Overall: The view is the selling point for this hotel so if your unfit or have mobility issues then it's no advised. Some live entertainment and staff are...
