I would stay again, however there were a few things I would prefer improved: Wifi is not available in the rooms, only right next to the office (if you are on international plan and saving your data, this might be a problem). Showers. I understand that it is tiny, but the wet curtain clinging to you is just a turn off. We were here in August and the heat was exhausting, so a nice shower a couple of times a day would be nice. But each time it was just disgusting with the curtain, I would suggest a thick plastic, at a minimum. But the good things outweighed the bad. The location can't be beat - 5 minute walk from the ferry. Don't forget, there is no car service on the island, so walkable distance is everything. The courtyard is very pretty, the room for 4 was available, with the loft and a small kitchen. There was space outside to hang your wet clothes. There are shops restaurants right outside your door. I see some reviews mentioning loud knock on the door right at the time of early check out time. Sure enough, we got that knock right at 10.30, but it was my fault for not remembering the check out time. We just went to the seaside restaurant next to the ferry and enjoyed our drinks and the view of the harbor. All in all, Hydra and Glaros hotel were places...
Read moreMy stay at Glaros Guesthouse in Hydra was very disappointing. The hotel gives off a sense of complete abandonment. To make matters worse, we had booked a room with one bed for two guests, but they gave us a room with two separate beds instead. The doors had paint marks from years ago, and the walls were extremely dirty with visible signs of wear. The furniture was very old, and there were issues everywhere, including the windows and walls.
The bathroom was so small that I could barely take a shower. Towels and sheets were not changed at all during my stay, which made the situation even worse. The sheets and blankets seemed to be from the 1990s.
The experience became even more unpleasant when, on the day of check-out, an elderly man, probably the owner, came, knocked on the doors, and tried to enter the room while we were sleeping. Additionally, we were abruptly informed that we had to leave at 10 a.m. instead of 12 p.m. because new guests were arriving.
The only positive aspect of the hotel is that it is located at the port and is more affordable compared to other hotels. However, the overall image and condition of the hotel make it clear that I will not stay there again. Next time, I will make sure to read what other people say...
Read moreWe stayed in this place for six days. One night we woke up for the terrible noice. The hot water boiler was broken and there was water storming from it all over the bathroom. There was nobody on the repection. We tried to phone the owner but he did not listen just shut the phone by saying ” I am sleeping”. We sent him a message after that but got no answer. Finally we managed to shut the switch of the incoming water on the wall. In the morning they did not even say they are sorry but asserted that the breakdown was our fault. We decided not to go to the beach and waited for the repairman who said fault was not ours. But the owners did not even now say that they are sorry for accusing us without reason. Behaviour of the woman in the reception and owner was bad. At the night we had dried the bathroom with our towels. In the morning they just said that it was our duty. We never got clean towels. ||For last two days there was no cleaning in our room and no towels. The balcony was not cleaned for whole week. We had paid by cash and they did not give us receipt.||We were happy to get away and will...
