Spilia beach and sunset restaurant is in my view truly unique. Coming from South Africa where we have access to some of the most beautiful soft white sandy beaches, getting into the deep blue waters of the Aegean sea by climbing over rocks and then down with a stainless steel ladder, was a bit scary but absolutely exciting! We loved the whole experience of just floating on the calm warm water which now and then become a bit wavy as passing sea crafts stirred up the water. Kids were jumping from the rocks, shouting and challenging each other. Lovely young bodies in tiny swim suits mixed with older bodies showing off lives well lived and everybody was enjoying themselves. Then when you are properly cooled off make your way upstairs to the bar area, find a chair with a view, order a spritz and just enjoy the bliss of being on...

The location is undeniably beautiful, but the service was shockingly poor. There was no greeting or eye contact on arrival, and the coffee was served with a pool of coffee sitting in the saucer — not a napkin, not a word, and no offer to replace it. When it came to pay, not a single word was exchanged. The waiter didn’t tell me the amount, just handed me the card reader while chatting with his colleague, making it clear that customers were an inconvenience. The young waiter seemed far more interested in himself than in extending even the most basic courtesy or professionalism. A place this lovely deserves staff who reflect its charm — unfortunately, this experience reflected nothing but arrogance and...

Hydra Island is da Greek answer on Japanese Cat island Aoshima. At da port where you arrive there are already fluffy cats expecting you to give them some pet or food. Hydra is very well known for his cat population. Cats on every corner in any street welcome new arrival. They seems to be well looked after and very benelovent from da kitty counterparts in Athens. Da reason for the cat population on Hydra is that Cars and Motorcycles are banned on Hydra and there are rarely dogs. Also da climate takes care of da furrballs who enjoy a great kitty lazy lifestyle. Its worth to visit Greek kitty...

We arrived to Hydra after visiting Poros, we dropped down at the port and walked along the pier when we reached this place which is a beach bar with the peculiarity that is set on a rocky waterfront platform, so that, you can enjoy view whilst having a delicious cocktail. Or if you feel like refreshing but not from drinking a beverage you cat take a dip at the ocean using the access on the bar and spend some time swimming in the sea, it is totally secure and the water is always clean just like all the water in all greek beaches.
