We stayed at Manolia for 6 nights in September. Manolia guest house has 3 rooms and is located in the quiet part of Hydra, just a short 5-minute walk from the harbour. The entrance of the guest house is located in a well maintained side alley that features lots of lush greenery and a sleepy cat. Upon entry you'll find a lovely courtyard with a few garden tables underneath one of the lemon and lime trees. Georgia, the receptionist, gave us a warm welcome and introduced us to the spacious room and a complementary bottle of wine. The bedroom is large and has fly screen protected windows on two sides with seating nooks. It also features a wardrobe, an AC, and a fridge. I would typically not point this out but the lighting installed in this place is great and adds to the charm of the room. At the bottom of the night table we found a night light plug, and a mosquito repellent plug. The wifi internet coverage is good and speeds are fast (about 24 mb/s). The bathroom is also large and has a spectacular shower "cave". The room was cleaned spotless daily. If I had to pick a feature to improve I would pick the smoke detector on top of the entrance which had a green led light that was a bit too bright in total darkness. We covered it which solved the problem. We handwashed a few clothing items during our stay and were able to use the clothing line of the rooftop terrace. The entire place was designed and renovated by the owner. It took him 2 years to complete the renovation prior to the 2016 launch. Manolia is a family-run business and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the design and features to make the guest feel like they experience a truly special guest house. Having travelled Greece numerous times, I can comfortably say that Manolia is a high end guest house that offers excellent value. Stay at Manolia if you want to leave beautiful Hydra...
Read moreHydra is a very special island and staying at Manolia made it even more special. This is a small, charming, and extremely well-kept hotel, and we liked everything about it. Both our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was very quiet and we slept well on Manolia’s excellent beds. The walk-in showers would make more luxurious hotels envious.|The WiFi was fast and dependable, the lighting and decoration much to our liking.||While Manolia mentions on its website that it serves no breakfast, the thoughtful owners provide toast, butter, juice, honey and marmalade, bottled water, a coffee maker, coffee capsules – all for free. The coffee was the best we had on the island.||It was our first visit to a hotel I found on TripAdvisor by trusting reviews written by fellow members. I, in turn, recommend it very highly to my...
Read moreWe stayed in Manolia for two nights. It’s a short 5min walk from the harbour and a little hide away. There’s a small indoor patio with lemon trees. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bathrooms are large and very clean as well. Our hosts were very friendly and made our stay as comfortable as possible. There’s no breakfast served, but they offer you crackers, jam/honey and coffee for free in the room. Also water comes free and two small bottles of white wine. When we sat outside, our host offered us selfmade very tasty liquor. There’s good WiFi, you have your own fridge, A/C and you will love the house cat! All in all, a perfect stay and we truly recommend! We paid 90€ per night for the room in May, might be more expensive in peak season from...
