Important: Don’t stay here if expecting the luxury and facilities of the Ritz Hotel for peanuts! We stayed here for two weeks in September and it cost £180 for two people. A real bargain. ||||Here is the run down:||||The location of the Filitsa is on the main road of Tingaki. There is no reception as such but a table and chair on the 1st floor where the owner/cleaner sometimes sits. The road can be quite noisy with coaches, motor bikes etc so if noise is going to affect your sleep perhaps a place away from the road might be advisable.||||A few studio’s face out onto the main road but the majority are side facing overlooking some farming land and the main road. The studio’s at the side are over three floors. The ‘ground floor’ is slightly lower than ground and the other two floors above ground level. When we arrived it was late evening but our name was clearly shown on a paper list at the entrance with our room number. The studio door was unlocked and the key was in the ashtray on the table. ||||The studio was standard greek style and comparable to other budget types we have stayed in through major UK holiday companies. ||||The kitchenette area is quite roomy with a table and two chairs. The fridge and cooker are fairly old but were in working condition. An under sink cupboard to store provisions. There was an electric kettle. Half a bottle of washing up liquid was on the sink but unsure if this is standard to all studio’s or left by the previous occupants. There was a new sponge dishcloth and also a sponge scourer there along with the usual pans, cutlery, plates, cups etc.||||The toilet / shower area is like so many in Greece. The size is quite confined. Like the kitchen, the sanitaryware is very dated but worked. A small cabinet was above the sink to put your bits in. The toilet does what it’s supposed to do and the standard pedal bin for disposing of toilet paper is nearby. It always had a liner in and the lid fitted tightly. The shower was small but at least had a shower base to contain the water. We always had hot water and the pressure was good. A plastic curtain was also around the shower area but tended to cling to one’s buttocks (and mine are not massive). My partner hooked the curtain out of the way as it annoyed him. The good thing is there was a vileda type mop there so one could get rid of the water on the floor easily. ||||The living area consisted of two single beds, a dressing table with mirror above, a small cabinet between the beds and a wardrobe with drawers at the bottom. Again they were old but served their purpose. Loads of coat hangers in wardrobe too. There is air conditioning if you want to pay extra for it but there was also a floor standing fan which we used overnight to keep cool. Also a plug in device to put your mozzie tablets in.||||The balcony consisted of a plastic table with two chairs. There was a small line with pegs for hanging wet clothes on. ||||No swimming pool here but we prefer to go to the beach. Why pay for something you’re not going to use? The location is ideal for getting back to after an evening out.||||We found Katerina (the lady who cleans and possibly owns the Filitsa) very friendly and jolly and always spoke to us when we saw her. She kept the communal floors spotless. Our studio was also kept clean and the floors gleamed. The sheets and towels were changed three times a week. She left on our kitchen table two olive loafs and also two chocolate chip sponge cakes over our two weeks. Mmmm. ||||Conclusion: We enjoyed our stay here. A bargain for the price we paid and people really should take that into account before criticising the accommodation. You get what you pay for and would happily...
Read morePlain but very clean and nicely kept apartments, with good wardrobe and drawer space. We arrived very late at night, and Katerina, the lady in charge (who is lovely and friendly and does an all round great job) had put a bottle of water in the fridge, which was great. Linen and towels are changed every two days, when the apartments are also cleaned. As with most apartments, we had to leave by 12pm, but since our flight was late at night, we kept one room. When we were out for lunch the room was cleaned, even though it would have to be done again for new guests coming in. The apartments are just off the main road, but traffic noise is not a problem (we were there in June). The beach is not far away, and there are loads of tavernas and bars nearby. The sunset view from Filitsa, towards the Salt Lake, is beautiful. There is a rough field of grass and wild flowers beside the apartments, with loads of butterflies and birds to be seen. A bus stop to Kos Town is a few yards to the right as you leave the apartment driveway. Definitely...
Read moreFor what we paid these apts were fantastic value, though very basic, Katerina cleaned them every day changing bins etc... Linen and towels were changed regulary. We didn't use the kitchen facilities apart from the fridge which could do with updating. There is A/C though we only used the fan.We had room 14 which had some amazing views and the sun all afternoon.||We arrived very late and Katerina the lovely lady had left us a bottle of water and cakes.||Luckily the bar opposite was still open, so don't panic if you're arriving late and want a drink they close around 3-4 in the morning though it's a sports bar there is no noise to keep you awake.||Don't arrive expecting 4-5* with a perfect kitchen etc...If that's what you want pay for it.||We loved these apartments, close to everything, will...
