Paid for a Junior Suite for two nights. AC in bedroom wasn't working during a heatwave with strong winds. Nobody's fault, but how they handled the situation was the unfortunate part. They said they would call someone to have it looked at but that it's almost impossible to have someone come before the end of our stay. Understandable. No other suites/rooms were available the first night. It's probably a good idea to have a spare room/suite available for incidents like this. We were told to sleep with windows open (and "oh no wonder, you need AC because you're Canadian") or sleep on the living area sofa beds since there was AC in living area. No thanks to windows open during a heatwave to have mosquitoes and allergies triggered. The AC in the living area did not make its way to the bedroom. The bedroom was similar to a sauna. Asked for partial refund, and they said they would talk it over upon checkout but that my rates were apparently already cheaper than normal because it was a last minute/last suite deal. They offered to put us in another space on the second night (that was "better") with two flights of stairs when my family member has mobility issues and my initial booking was booked because I knew the Junior Suite was on the ground floor (I added a note to that booking saying that a ground floor was needed for mobility issues just in case). When we declined an inaccessible "better" Deluxe Suite, they suggested a classic standard room (not a suite) which also had steps saying that there are "just a few steps; she can do it; she'll be fine". They (named Costas) said why don't I go into either of these spaces with AC as "I am able" and let my family member stay back in the Junior Suite in the living area on the sofa bed. Not to mention the major inconvenience of moving all our stuff, bags, and suitcases from one space to another if we had agreed. They came to fix the AC one hour before checkout while we had to pack up because we were told on the first night that a late check-out wasn't going to be possible. They could have had the decency to wait one more hour until we left to have the AC fixed. They expressed they wanted it to be ready for the next person. Um, check-in wasn't until a few hours later. I have a video of how incredibly loud the AC removal construction was while we were packing up but Google only seems to let me add photos. I politely emailed them and messaged them on WhatsApp after our stay requesting some type of refund to be fair for sleeping on sofa beds without bedroom AC. They haven't responded to my email and have left me on read on WhatsApp. The other thing is that I expressed wanting to leave on the first night after how they treated me, because they had no other spaces available, and because they made me cry, but they suggested that I stay and they would "try their best" the next day. Should've just left. Their choices of words and treatment was so degrading, poor, and discriminatory (in regards to where we are from and my family members mobility). In their attempt to make a really terrible situation better, them "trying their very best" was us not paying for the airport/port transfers which are absolutely nowhere near the price of two nights in a "Junior Suite". Stay wasn't worth the price even had the AC worked. Very poorly mishandled situation and discriminatory treatment. What a way to ruin our short...
Read moreCorfos hotel is a hidden gem of Mykonos. Ornos beach is in 10mins walking distance where you can take a bus to Mykonos town or water taxi to several bays around the south of the island for around £15/20 each per day. Also nearby famous Shirley Valentine beach Agios Ionass. Close by are various restaurants, supermarket and fantastic bakeries where you can buy fresh salads and sausage pies. All of the staff are very helpful and the owner is on site making homemade marmalade and cakes for the excellent breakfast. Dimitris was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our time relaxing in the salt water pool which is so clean and fresh and good for your skin. The barkeeper Thassos was very friendly and helpful, gave us lots of information about Greece and it’s culture. He made amazing cocktails especially Strawberry Daquiri. The rooms were very clean, well kept inc housekeeping everyday. You can book a taxi via reception and highly recommend you book airport transfers with them too (driven by the manager). I would 100% recommend Corfos hotel as it is well situated and wonderful their service which is probably why it also has many repeat customers. Can’t wait to go back one day....
Read moreWe stayed here for 7 nights, and don't have really anything to complain about this hotel. ||Very friendly and honest staff. We booked late, and paid the refundable fare (you know corona....). However, in the confirmation it said that it could not be refunded due to booking within 2 weeks. After contacting them they promised to return the difference, which indeed happened. ||Breakfast is good, despite some complaints of previous reviewers. Everything is fresh, and there is always enough.||As the title suggests, our bed in house 5 was a bit hard and needed getting used to the first couple of nights.||Location is very good in Ornos; quiet and secluded. Just make sure to hire transport; scooter or quad to get around on the island.||Swimming pool is only heated by the sun and has salt sea water.||The restaurant for dinner was not open anymore due to corona, but there are plenty of other good restaurants on the island. I suggest to rent a scooter or quad, as we did, as it gets you around the island quickly. No need to rent a car as the island is too...
