My spouse and I have travelled all over the world... Our stay at Mykonos Ammos was undoubtedly the best hotel experience we've ever had in our life.
After travelling through Europe for a month, we stayed at the Mykonos Ammos Hotel for 3 nights in late April, right after they opened for the season. From the minute we stepped foot onto the property, we were in awe of this resort and everything it offered. The staff was outstanding, each and every one of them. We arrived a little early for check-in but were welcomed to enjoy brunch before our room was ready. The buffet breakfast at Ammos is like something out of a movie. Incredible selection of freshly baked breads, plenty of options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, fresh honeycomb and yogurt, greek specialities, a beautiful variety of fresh fruits and juices, along with salads and cheeses - literally anything you can imagine. It was something we looked forward to every single morning.
Vassiliki gave us such a thorough and welcoming tour of the property and its amenities, including the spa and pool area. Because we were visiting in low season, they offered us 40% off spa services and complimentary sunbeds on their private beach which was SO nice - we had planned on paying for them but it was just such a nice gesture and we were so grateful. This allowed us to spend every day enjoying the beautiful weather on the beach... which was exactly what we were hoping for. The waitstaff on the beach is incredibly attentive and friendly, on par with everything else we experienced at Ammos. The customer service at this resort was some of the best we've experienced in our lives. The beach is absolutely incredible, a nice sheltered spot from the wind and the water is crystal clear aqua blue. The private guest beach really made all the difference and truly gave us that luxury experience that we were looking for at Ammos.
Our room - wow. We had to pinch ourselves to believe it was real. Our double room was surprisingly large with sophisticated, high-end finishes, comfy beds and all the amenities you could ever need. The entire space was so romantic, luxurious and extremely private - we requested a room off of the pool area which had a patio with privacy drapes that allowed us to enjoy the space late into the evenings. The poolfront rooms are quiet and just far enough away from the restaurant and the beach that you can escape the noise if you want to. The cleaning staff visited at various points throughout the day and night, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed at all hours of the day.
If you're looking for a luxury beach location in Mykonos away from the bustling centre of Little Venice, Ornos beach is absolute paradise. The bus stop is right next to the hotel for easy access to town, and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Our favourite was the climb up to Loundas (which we did twice) for authentic Greek cuisine. This was a highlight for us.
At every turn, the staff was so eager to make our experience absolutely magical - and they did. We loved every single second of our stay at Ammos hotel and we cannot wait to come back. We were lucky to experience the resort in low season so we really got to capitalize on the amenities and were treated like royalty, but we'd love to come back in high season to participate in all of the action that comes along with it. I'll also note that we spent 3 nights in Santorini after our stay at Ammos and it didn't come anywhere close to our experience in Mykonos - this was the highlight of our trip.
Mykonos Ammos Hotel holds a special place in our hearts and we will 100% be returning again. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime 'pinch-me' moment, do yourself a favour and stay at this hotel. It is absolute perfection. We can undoubtedly say that our stay at Mykonos Ammos hotel is truly the best hotel experience we've ever had...
Read moreOur experience at Mykonos Ammos Hotel was the best hotel experience I’ve ever have had. To say we were pleasantly surprised to see just how beautiful and upscaled this hotel is without breaking the bank is an understatement. We received the warmest of welcomes from the minute we arrived from every single staff member. Everyone greets you with the warmest and genuinest of smiles. They all take a lot of pride in their jobs and making Ammos Hotel one the best small luxury hotel around. There were so many stand outs. The rooms are large, clean and were gorgeously decorated with all the upgrades. Our room was directly on the beach and came with 2 free cabana beds with wait staff. Everyone at the hotel makes sure you had everything you needed to feel pampered. Part of our welcoming tour included visiting the spa. The spa was beautiful, clean and the staff were extremely professional. Mike, Eva and Alex have now become part of our family. Mike is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He takes pride in his continued training for himself and staff. Nothing but the best of the best for their guests. We were originally scheduled to stay at this hotel 3 nights and move on to another hotel. We checked out of Ammos and went to our next hotel and quickly realized, although just as beautiful it wasn’t for us. We quickly called Ammos hotel and told them we wanted to come back “home”. Mike assisted us and connected us with Giannias at the front desk where he made sure we not only got the same beach front room, Giannias gave it to us at a discounted price. Something that definitely did not need to be done but it was a huge surprise for us. This hotel has everything within walking distance on the property you could possibly need.. We were literally sad to leave!! When I return to Mykonos, this is the only hotel I will ever stay. Mykonos Ammos Hotel is better than home away from home!!!! The words THANK YOU will NEVER be enough to all the amazing staff! We had the best vacation ever and it was largely in part to our stay at Mykonos...
Read moreI discovered this hotel on Booking.com by filtering for 5-star properties and selecting the highest-rated one.
They provided convenient airport transfers, picking us up upon arrival and dropping us off on our final day.
The hotel is ideally situated just a 5-minute drive from JMK airport, or 8 minutes at the most.
Nestled right on the beach, the hotel features both a private area for guests and a public section for visitors, offering a great balance for those who enjoy a mix of privacy and socializing.
I traveled with my wife and our 2-year-old son, who had a few tantrums during our stay. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, even forming a special bond with him.
I won’t delve into every detail, but rest assured, all the 5-star standards are met here. What truly distinguishes this hotel is the outstanding service provided by the staff.
The facilities are top-notch, and the staff are fantastic.
The beach is nestled between two points, creating a more sheltered environment with calmer waves. The water is a stunning, shallow aqua color, and you can even spot schools of small fish. The sand is excellent—occasionally dotted with pebbles that are perfect for compacting if you enjoy building intricate sandcastles.
There were a couple of minor inconveniences, though I’m not complaining as I found solutions:
If you’re staying for more than five days without leaving the resort, the food options might become repetitive. Fortunately, there’s a local taverna next door that serves delicious homemade food. I couldn’t secure a late checkout, as my flight was at 5 PM. However, I completely understand given how in-demand this hotel is—they truly deserve all the business they get. To pass the time, I simply relaxed at the beach restaurant, ordering food and enjoying a leisurely meal. Personally, I didn’t love the bed sheets. I’m used to something more luxurious and softer at home. The sheets were a bit noisy when I moved around, which was a...
