Oikia Suites Mykonos — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

Stayed at Oikia Suites Mykonos in October 2023 when island hopping.||First thing to say is that for the money, the location was unbeatable. We paid about £300 for two nights - no other hotels in Mykonos Town this 'cheap'. So please keep that in mind during this review.||The room itself looks great on arrival, but finishes are very shabby. It is not as big as it looks online, however definitely not as small as some of the other reviews are making out. There is an area with a double bed, open plan with a sink area and then a door to a bathtub and toilet. One of the big negatives was that there was no shower. There is just a bathtub and a hose (no connection to wall). This meant that water gets EVERYWHERE in the bathroom (especially with no shower curtain). Towels had a bit of a weird smell after using them once (not replaced during stay).||The owner's friend (who works in a shop round the corner) greets you with the room key. Think he also does the cleaning too. Room quite dusty in places. More like an Airbnb. However owner had good communication over Whatsapp on arrival.||For the price (compared to everywhere else in Mykonos Town), this is a great hotel. If this was on a different island, and the same price, then it would be a different story. But we had aquiet night sleep and were right in the centre of town. Just be aware that you get hardly anything for your money on Mykonos compared to...

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Oikia Suites Mykonos.

The room I was given looked nothing like the photos — it was actually a basement, with no windows, a strong, nauseating smell of mold, and was completely filthy. There was dust everywhere, red stains on the bed (possibly blood), a dead cockroach on the floor, and the bathroom was disgusting.

I have photos that I am going to public too.

I contacted the owner immediately, explaining that the room was unlivable and that I couldn’t stay due to the health hazard. He refused to offer another room and just said someone would come clean. I told him I was leaving immediately, and asked for a refund of the €150 I had sent in advance to block the room.

He said he would let me know how to refund me. It’s been over 3 weeks and I’ve received nothing.

This is not just bad service, it’s dishonest. I strongly advise you to avoid this place and book somewhere...

We enjoyed our stay. Great location. Central but pretty quiet. No issues collecting the key despite being late. Modern room. Netflix, nice furniture, aircon and fridge. The only negatives were small things. No face towels, just bath. No spoons or plates. A coffee machine but just 2 pods. One large coffee cup for 2 people. Lots of cupboard space but no little table to put something on when relaxing on the sofa. Tiny bedside tables. No bin other than the sanitary one in the bathroom. And the bathroom door squeeked really loud....poor neighbours. Only mention these things to allow them to be rectified and give guests an even more...
