In our 10 days Mykonos vacation the only authentic Greek place we could found. Very delicious freshly made home style cooking Greek specialities, incredible lovely service by two brothers and I guess the rest of the family members, very cosy, family like atmosphere and for Mykonos reasonable prices. We felt very comfortable and everything was already worth for the five stars.

But what I experienced after I finished my dinner needs actually at least 10 stars. A young lady came in, after complaining a bit about the seat she was offered, sat next to me and started to ask in a very arrogant way, every dish again and again by showing the pics posted in years long at Google. As the location changes its menus according to the season, the friendly service guy explained what there was on the daily menu and what was on the pics posted may be 5 yeas ago, and why they didnt have it right now etc etc. with a lot of patience. She was forgetting the explanations, and was coming back to pics she already asked and asking one more time and getting disappointed and more annoying one more time. I left after half an hour and she was still scrolling the pics and making busy the staff for deciding what to order in a complete full restaurant!!

People who do you think who you are??!! You are not buying the Restaurant. Show respect a little bit other customers' rights and the staff working there hours long. And the friendly guy behind the bar; congrats for your patience! I would have kicked her out of the restaurant in the first 5 min. P.S. I made some pics for posting, but I will not post them for not giving more material to...

I used to come to this restaurant every year, but this was definitely the last time. Once known for its quality cuisine and reasonable prices, the place has fully embraced the Mykonos mindset: treat tourists like fools.

Prices are now completely absurd — we were charged €5 for a portion of fries so small it must have come from half a potato. The food lacks refinement: a (decent) chicken breast was served with what can only be described as a tablespoon of rice, four bland and hard fries, and a lemon sauce as watery as tap water.

When I tried to give some feedback to the owner, I didn’t even mention the cafeteria-level quality of the food. I simply pointed out the outrageous price for a tiny extra portion of potatoes, since there clearly wasn't enough food on the plate.

His reaction? Completely over the top. He became instantly defensive, raised his voice, and caused a public scene in front of the whole restaurant — an extremely uncomfortable moment.

Sadly, this place has lost all sense of hospitality and value. What was once a lovely annual tradition has turned into a disappointing tourist...

An Unforgettable Greek Experience!

Dining at this traditional Greek gem, owned by the incredible twin duo, was an experience like no other! From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in the warmth and charm that only true family-run establishments can provide.

The ambiance is a perfect reflection of Greece—cozy, authentic, and brimming with Mediterranean flair. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that transported us straight to a seaside taverna in the heart of Greece. The twins, who own the restaurant, have clearly poured their heart and soul into each and every detail.

But what made our evening truly exceptional was Martina, our lovely waitress. Her warmth, knowledge of the menu, and genuine hospitality elevated our experience even more. She was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel like part of the family.

If you're craving a true taste of Greece with impeccable service, this is the place to be. Highly,...

My partner and I weren’t too impressed with the food scene in Mykonos. Many of the restaurants were clearly geared toward tourist, mediocre tasting, and overpriced. To Maereio was far from that and the one of the only places we enjoyed a homey Greek meal that was not only tasty, but reasonable in central Mykonos. I noticed we were surrounded by what it seemed to be recurring customers that knew the staff well, which was a good sign! This place is run by two brothers, one handles the bar and the other the kitchen. They had a fun and playful dynamic and I personally loved the family run business atmosphere. We ordered a form of bruschetta (tomato and goat cheese on bread), beef filet, and chicken with leeks. The two main dishes were tasteful and tender with great flavor! The portions were also generous for someone like my boyfriend. 10/10 recommend and make sure to make reservations because this place was busy until closing!

So our hotel was on this street, and every night, there was a queue to get in. So we tried it on the last night. We got the table outside and chatted to the people who were waiting. The two brothers were attentive despite being very busy. But they were rushed. The food was good, but I think where we were. We just had the feeling of being rushed. I would have loved to sit and have another wine. I had the chicken with leek. It was a simple dish, but the chicken was very creamy, and if I closed my eyes, I could picture an old Greek woman cooking it! If you like food.. then this is for foodies. I just had one bad impression from a man that was sat outside the restaurant all day, when it was closed. I am not sure who he was but, as some people were walking past he shouted "welcome to paphos".. and then acted like he owned the place but was dismissive of me when I asked about booking a table.
