If it was only for the villa this place would have been okay MAYBE. The actual physical villa would have been passible but the management made it a TERRIBLE experience. We arrived early on the ferry and understood we could not arrive until 3pm but they had said we could drop our bags at the office. NOT! The office is hard to find. There is no parking and on a crazy road where you either have to walk down a hill and up a huge number of stairs to drop your bags IF you can find it. Then we get there and the promised person to let us in doesn't arrive for a full hour. We have no clue which villa is ours. Then the lounges around the pool are filthy, the blanket on the couch is filthy, the tv doesn't work. We ask to have this fixed. They promise tomorrow 10am. Nobody shows up! We are on vacation and waiting for this guy! He asks for another $500 security deposit. We have already paid $1000 security deposit and then when we wouldn't give him a credit card takes my passport ID. At least I still had my actual passport. But when I finally find the office and prove I had paid $1000 security deposit. I am told that I can't have my passport ID back until the day we leave in case of damage. Then why did they already take $1000 security deposit? Why do they need my passport card? At this point I have no confidence I am going to get my passport ID back before we leave. Next day, the guy shows up to give me my ID back. He doesn't even look around. He says "Did you destroy anything" I say "No, do you want to look around?" He smirks and gives me my ID back. An hour later a lady shows up and says we have a cleaning crew here for the next guests. I say "We are not checking out until 11:00am as we told the man when we got here. She insisted on getting her cleaning crew in. Once I told her "Look we had to wait to 4pm to get in!" She said "Okay, I didn't know that, we will wait. The place was not well maintained. It was not well appointed. We did the best with what we had. We asked for a decent fry pan but it never came. We ask for the tv to be fixed but it wasn't. The wifi worked downstairs only. The water ran hot and cold with little ability to control it. We asked for the blanket to be changed out and the pool cushions that looked like a car was worked on with oil dripping on them. No luck! We were also appalled that the staff who let us in suggested that we park in the narrow space between the pool and villa. This completely blocked the view of the pool and the ocean. What is the point! If I wanted a view of my rental car I could have paid for a parking lot view! Our next stay on Santorini was the polar opposite of this. Great experience for the same price. The staff here at THE PEARLS is all about the money! They don't care about yours stay! BEWARE!!! If these folks would have given a damn and had things happen beyond their control I would have sympathy. The problem was that they just plain DONT CARE! When you are on a trip that is expensive and you are trying to have a good time and not wait on people to help you this is really frustrating. This costs time that you could be out having fun! This is not the place to stay if you want someone to care about whether or not you have a good time! Bottom line! ...
Read moreWe firs booked another villa called Megan, when we arrived we were told we could not get it and were proposed another one; due to our arrival and being tired, we did not have any other choice than accepting that one: on top they had sent us the most lovely young people, so... First the positive sides: It was extremely well situated as from walking distance from Mykonos center, same size as the other one, nice terrasse with a tiny pool, but ok. Every room with its own bathroom and air-condition and perfect for sharing as there are 3 rooms fully independent with their own doors, and two with same entrance; the kitchen and sofa rooms are separated. Negative: cleaning was bad, I had to clean all by myself when we arrived, SMELL: we could not use anything from the kitchen and we had to buy plastic stuff for the week( which goes with our principles), this was due to humidity in the kitchen, same in the rooms and as they tried to hide it with some artificial perfumes, it was worse! I wended up chasing the "perfumes" ,getting them in one room and ask them to not put perfume for our stay. The TV never worked, and even if all furniture were of good quality it was quite outdate; there are also a bunch of old books all over and magasines, could look nice but it doesn't. Finally the pictures they have on their websites are not right, it is not the same furnitures and set up inside and on the terrasse; you have to be aware of it. And for sure not as clean and new as it looks on their pics. Furthermore, we discovered that someone was living in the house down at the same time as us, it wasn't a problem for us, but we should have been told.||And my husband, on the first night, met some guys on our terrasse, quite weird, they were some guards, but same we were not told and I must admit it was quite scary. So go for it if you wish to be close to the city and are a lot of people who wish to share a villa, but make sure that it will be clean when you come and if you have sensitive to smell and humidity, then you should choose another...
Read moreDO NOT STAY IN ANY MYKONOS PEARLS VILLAS. I would give 0 if I could. We booked Villa Megan for our stay in Mykonos last year. However, we used Travelocity. We found the same exact villa on Airbnb for about $400 more expensive. It was a bit odd, but obviously, we booked the cheaper one on Travelocity. ||||One day before our stay we received a call from the Mykonos Pearls attorney, saying there were "technical difficulties" and they would "upgrade" us to another villa, but over a 35 minute car ride from the city center (and no civilization near us other than other villas.) They said that transportation would be provided 24 hours.||||Upon arrival to the villa which was extremely far, we had no running water, no wifi service, and transportation was ridiculously hard to book. Additionally, the DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. We lost the whole day worrying about Mykonos Pearls staff in our villa. We were even stranded in the town one night and had to pay someone off to take us to the villa. ||||When we tried calling Mykonos Pearls to complain, they underplayed the severity of our situation (NO RUNNING WATER FOR CHRIST'S SAKE) and tried moving us. Its been 4 months since we were there, and we JUST received our refund. ||||DO NOT USE MYKONOS PEARLS. TAKE THIS...
