In a couple of words, they ruined my holidays, I'm frustrated, I cannot trust them and, I will never go there again. They mocked me on the phone and then wanted 480E per night for a very simple room. How, in the story below. I was in Amorgos and wanted to travel alone to Koufonisia on the 1st of September 2023. So I found and called this hotel, which accidentally took for Koufonisia Resort where I had stayed some time ago. I was confused because of the Resort in the hotel name, and because I thought that Koufonisia have only one resort hotel. Now I now that they have a real one and this one. On the phone, the guy at the Reception (Dimitris) gave me a price of 120E. I said that this price for Koufonisia, for this season, is a good one. The guy praised the room for its view, cocomat mattress, toilet, renovation, in a few words everything. I remained with the impression that although the price is a bit high for one person, at least I was going to enjoy the room. They requested me to pay the whole amount in advance. So I paid them 360E. By the way, one thing I noticed was that this guy never used his family name. Even in the email where he requested me to transfer the money, he signed only with his first name. I got there one day earlier and before seeing the room I paid another 120, cause I didn't want to search here and there and lose my day. Then the guy took me to an isolated, dark room with one bed, absolutely no other furniture, no closet, no view, NOTHING AT ALL, and a very strange and cheap toilet door from glass and iron, which reminded me the door that my uncle had in his village to his backyard stable. But I have to admit it was clean. I think now, that maybe the people there believe that laying your stuff on the floor is the right way to accommodate guests, and also so obvious, natural and expected, that they didn't even need to mention it, neither on the phone nor when you are there. Of course I didn't like the room. This was not the room for which I had paid 4 nights in advance, and I went to complain to Dimitris. The guy took me then to another room. While we were going there I was asking for the price and the reply was always wait to see the room first. So we got there. The room had a better view, but other than that it was nothing special. In Amorgos I had stayed in a better one for the same money. There, after showing me the room, he said that normally the price they request for this room is 480E per night !!! Because I was alone he could leave it to me for 300E per night, otherwise, if he was to leave it for less money he could lose his job 😊 (probably because he saw that I work in Switzerland and thought that I might have enough money, so he could relief me of some). I told him that the price was too high and asked if I could get back my money and leave. The policy though of the hotel was not permitting any redemptions. Then, instead of talking to the owners or going to the police to file a report, I offered him 50E more per night. He accepted at 60E. He wanted all 240E in advance, without saying it to anyone, and of course without receipt (we call this kind of money in Greece black). I went to get the money and when I returned back he was registering another guest. He asked me politely to wait until he is finished. Obviously he didn't want that the other guest sees that he was taking "black" money from me (yes, it was that obvious). When he finished I gave him the money, he took them in a blink of an eye, and put them in his pocket. That's was it. From that moment on he was always very polite. I was though very angry, not because of the money, but because of the way they ripped me off. For them I was probably a stupid tourist with enough money that they can exploit to get more. A complete rip-off.||They insisted to be fully paid upfront and they were not providing us with the receipt until the very last minute. We had to explicitly request it multiple times and they even got upset. The young person in the front desk was completely unprofessional and rude. They were unable to deal with the complaints. They were speaking in an offensive way with impolite gestures to us and to another couple who were also complaining, right in front of us. And all this, right in front of the person who seemed to be the manager of the premise.||||We also complained about an incident that happened 2 times during our stay, as drunk ppl were trespassing in the pool, 2am in the morning. His answer was that he understands these young guys because he is of the same age! Probably they deserved that the drunk people were so proudly pissing in the pool from the ledge. We never had such a bad customer service experience.||||As for the room, it was recently refurbished but clearly unfinished. Cables were hanging in the bathroom, the balcony had an unfinished pergola with no shade and no curtains. Few random furniture, that provide zero utility, were placed in the room, limiting the already small space. Regarding utilities, the bathroom had no hairdryer and zero toilet accessories to...

We paid 230€ per night for a deluxe double room. Apparently it was just a bed and bath without even a breakfast for this price. A complete rip-off. They insisted to be fully paid upfront and they were not providing us with the receipt until the very last minute. We had to explicitly request it multiple times and they even got upset. The young person in the front desk was completely unprofessional and rude. They were unable to deal with the complaints.
