Our stay at this hotel was truly unpleasant, and I would not recommend it to anyone. From the very beginning, the experience was terrible. The smell in the elevator space (or what used to be an elevator) and the accommodation was unbearable, with a stench of dead rats or sewage that was noticeable from the stairs. Although the smell didn’t enter the room, the hallway was a torment, and we had to enter the room with our noses covered. We reported it to the staff, but everyone looked at us as if they didn’t understand, completely ignoring our complaint.
There is no proper reception or a clearly marked entrance to the hotel, making it difficult to find. Upon arrival, we found people in the kitchen surrounded by papers and trash next to the cash register, where the manager was apparently located. Everything was disorganized and left a very bad impression.
The hotel’s pool was undoubtedly one of the biggest disappointments of our stay. The pool is public, which means anyone can swim there, without any kind of control. This not only compromises the safety and privacy of the guests but also affects the cleanliness and maintenance of the pool.
The water was visibly murky and dirty, which was alarming from the first day. The most surprising thing was what we witnessed every night: the guy in charge of cleaning the sunbeds and the area around the pool used a hose to throw all the dirty water directly into the pool as if it were a drain. This practice is not only unhygienic but also dangerous to the health of the guests who decide to use the pool. We were shocked to see that none of the staff seemed to find this problematic; on the contrary, they saw it as completely normal.
This level of negligence is unacceptable in any establishment, and it is clear that the hotel management does not take cleanliness or the safety of its facilities seriously.
The included breakfast was another major disappointment. It was prepared without any care: the eggs were swimming in oil, the bread was of poor quality, and the amount of food was minimal. Additionally, you had to chase down the waiter to get some juice, and if it ran out, they would serve you a mix of leftovers from different juices. Completely unacceptable.
Lastly, the nearby beach is not suitable for young children, which greatly limited our visits to the beach.
In summary, this hotel was a huge disappointment in every aspect. I would never return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant...
Read moreAs a six-member family, it's difficult to find a hotel room, especially during the peak period. Mid-August 2018 we telephoned at the Gold Apartments and we came at an agreement for a room (for the following day), that seemed to be free in all major hotel sites, The employee at the phone assured us that the room was free and that she booked it on our behalf. This conversation took part in the morning. In the afternoon, a few hours before actually starting our journey, the same employee called us and stated coldly that due to an... internet problem (!) she could not reserve the room for us and finally some other client booked it. We were really startled, We had never imagined of such a behaviour by a hotel's personnel, nor had we heard of a similar story in the past. Their explanations were rude and ended in the phrase 'Things happen, we can do nothing now'.||We were so much disappointed by the staff organisatory incompetence and by their rude, impolite behaviour, that we could never recommend this hotel in the future. If the staff allows such things to happen BEFORE our arrival, we cannot dare imagine how they could cope with difficult situations that could arise DURING our stay at the hotel.||We have no personal or commercial interests concerning GOLD Apartments. We feel obliged to advise all potential clients...
Read moreWe booked using Booking.com. We realised that our flight would get us there late. We contacted Georgia and she said it would be no problem. We entered our room it had all we wanted .The view from our balcony was stunning. The room was very clean, we stayed in a studio, and was a good size. The only thing that was missing was a cupboard to store any food we bought but it was not a big problem. Georgia, who runs the apartments and also the pool bar, is such a lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us she even kept the bar open , we were the only ones in, while we sat by the sea and drank and ate. All the pool staff are so friendly and worked so hard to make sure people were happy. Our room was cleaned by the lovely Maria. What a star she is. Again nothing was too much trouble. She greeted us every day with a "Good morning" in Greek (Kaliméra) and a huge smile. She did a great job.||The apartments are central and there is lots...
