The Ionia suites are simply beautiful!||We arrived at 2pm and our room 303 was available immediately. This is a small hotel with about 20 rooms which is perfect for us. We were on floor 3, the top floor with the rooftop swimming pool close by. The pool was small but really nice and peaceful. In fact the whole place is peaceful which made our stay perfect.|The room was a nice size, exceptionally clean, the balcony overlooked the front of the hotel and was quite small but did get the sun which was nice.|The road is quite busy so there is some noise . This did not bother us as it created a nice atmosphere.|A great location only about 100 metres from the beach. The Old Town is a 15 minute walk . Turn right out of the hotel and it’s a straight, flat , easy stroll.|We visited in May so the walk was lovely. This may be different in the height of the season when it gets very hot but taxis were plentiful-, however the walk is very nice.|The service from all of the staff was perfect. The small dining room for breakfast was beautiful, although I went down most mornings and brought breakfast up to the room and ate on the balcony.|The restaurants in the Old Town are amazing . Don’t bother with the ones along the front by the beach.|Rethymnon and the Ionia Suites are perfect for a relaxing holiday in...
Read moreWe stayed there from October 16th till October 25th 2022 and had an excellent stay with a perfect and very friendly service. E.G. we asked for an anti-slip mat and expected it days later but we got it in the evening when we came back. It was always possible to ask for help (I'm using a manual wheelchair and need sometimes help) and we got it very quickly and without any discussion like it happens often in other hotels. Also the prepared room for wheelchair usage was partly better set up as in rooms in other hotels where the "Wheelchair"-room is specially build for wheelchair-usage. The only not so perfect item is the exit to the balcony of the room which is not possible to do it alone with a manual wheelchair as the "step" is bit to high, but it is doable with an electric wheelchair. Many Thanks to everybody in the hotel for your perfect and very friendly help!! PS: The Receptionist lived long a time in Germany and speaks...
Read moreFirstly, this is a very well placed hotel! 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to the historical old town. As well as being 3 minutes from the busstation that can take you to many places on Crete.
The rooms were extremely clean, well kept and included everything one might need (AC, stove, fridge, etc.). We were even shocked to find a bottle of wine generously placed out for us upon entering the room as a welcoming gift.
The roof side pool is small, but serves it's purpose well of being a convenient opportunity for a quick dip and a tan.
The pinnacle of our experience was the staff. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. On our last day we were departing at 06:45, which was before the breakfast begins. The staff were kind enough to provide us with a smaller breakfast buffet anyways.
I highly recommend that you consider this place if you are planning a vacation...
