Julia Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

We spent there 2 weeks and the first morning I woke up, in a really bad shape I asked the owner to change the mattress because the springs were hurting me.He told me that he will tell the cleaner and she will solve the issue.When we came back from the beach the only thing the cleaner did was to swap my mattress with my wife one, I'm sure was not her idea.At the end we had to use two winter blanket to solve the problem.|The mattresses are at least 25 years old so I suggest to invest some money on the business before you open next summer. Rooms are very clean and the cleaner very helpful with everything we asked. Because we didn't spend much time and money at the bar and restaurant the owner Kept asking us everyday when we were leaving after just a few days we arrived.The Internet worked only the first day then there was a connection problem with our devices, the owner insisted that was our mobiles( our mobiles worked everywhere on the island). As an Internet expert I suggested to switch off the rooter to reset the IP address but they just told me that everything was fine with everyone but this doesn't mean that you don't care about one customer. So if you love your Internet think twice. The location is great if you want explore the island but the sea it's not really for kids with very deep water and every day its windy and rough sea. The beach it's long but not very clean...

Great location, right at the start of all the tavernas and bars and just a 5 minute walk to the beach. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, place was deserted but by the bar there was a note pointing us to our room and saying the key was in the door, nice and easy. Room was large with 2 single beds. Free air conditioning, which was far better for keeping the room cool than a lot of 5 star places I’ve stayed in, and free safe. A bathroom with shower stall, it was a little small, my husbands head was above the shower curtain, (but he is 6’5) a little kitchen area with kettle, fridge, 2 ring burner and sink. Had no intention of cooking so this was fine. Good storage for clothes and plenty of floor space. Our room was on the ground floor looking out to the garden bar, so had a patio table and 2 chairs, again plenty of space even a small washing line with pegs. The owners were always friendly and chatty and provided an excellent welcome. The pool was very small but this was not a problem for us as we prefer the beach anyway. Beds were a bit hard after a few days and pillows could have been softer, but overall a lovely stay with lovely people. Don’t expect 5 star luxury as you pay for what you get, and for what you pay, and the welcome you get, I would not hesitate to recommend...

The apartment was nice, my husband and myself stayed for one week and in that time we had the towels and bedding changed 3 times. The room was cleaned thoroughly once and tidied on two other occasions. There is a very busy road at the back of the apartments which is quite noisy but because of the good air-conditioning system (which was at no extra cost) we were able to keep the doors and windows closed which helped to block out most of the noise, we also had a safe in our room that we didn't have to pay for. Vasilious and his wife Brenda the owners were lovely and very helpful as was their Daughter Marissa. The owner seemed to do most of the cooking and i think it would be better if he employed a chef as he always seemed so busy. The complex consisting of around 20 apartments, pool/bar area and garden restaurant were all nice but in need of a little attention which hopefully will be addressed before the start if the next season. The apartments are situated in an ideal location close to all the shops restaurants and bars. The beach was just a 3 to 4 minute walk away and was kept very clean. There was a taxi rank next to the apartments and it was 8 Euros to the harbour which was lovely and well worth a visit. Thanks for a...
