Chabad of Rhodes — Attraction in Municipality of Rhodes

Let me begin that I'm honestly surprised by the bad reviews here , I got to Rhodes on my way home from Israel after Oct 7 I booked a hotel across from this chabad house. The minute I walked in to chabad I felt like home , running away from Isreal then with 2 small kids was horror but arriving here it was so amazing, they have a kids area ,great shul and really amazing food. The rabbi and his wife are so welcoming and friendly , our kids played with their kids (don't ask me how when we don't speak Hebrew but they got along just fine ) The food was great and we ordered also to go and they packed it up nice

(Unfortunately we heard that after we left they had to close down since they ran out of food because of so many ppl who arrived there after Oct 7 seeking a way out of Israel)

And I'll complete this review with what I started I honestly cannot believe these bad reviews, we had a wonderful time there and I hope to visit there again in better terms since the views there are so beautiful...

This Chabad is definitely not the place to go if you do not speak Hebrew. The rabbi just did not want to be bothered with English speaking visitors. He arrives late to greeted by 150 guests who had paid 40 euros a head for what was supposed to be a gathering and celebration of the Sabbath He did not communicate to the 10 English speaking guest. We left after 1 hour having been totally ignored by him. This was an absolute disaster. On my way out, I thanked him for his hospitality, he just tuned his head away. What can be improved:

more selection of food, because only 3 dishes were available during our stay better hygiene, for example cleaning the tables, chairs etc. (very Dirty) better service, because very long waiting time to get the menu card and waiting of food, waiting for payment , we had everything to ask by ourselves to make sure that each table get food, because on Friday and Saturday on Shabbes our table doesn‘t receive some food what other tables get, although we‘ve paid the...
