Told as got on coach there will be a reps meeting but they never happened No Tui rep in sight No Anwser on their contact number No show , So Thursday,Friday nice but very quiet No entertainment,or activities no kids club,no volley ball (as told there would be when sold )|Saturday got a call from a Greek number so went reception and asked if it was them they said yes itās to let you know Hotel was closing down For Good on Wednesday at 11am as it has been SOLD out to Marriotts Group hotel !|And said as you leave at 4pm Wednesday you will have to just got to another hotel down the road !|I instantly said No as our Contract is with TUI and would only be advised by them not the hotel (as I feel this would be me breaking the contract)|We then tried to contact Tui on the app well thatās a joke but eventually got them to call us and apparently wasnāt aware of any of this, but agreed we could be collected early on 30th by Bus 27 at 10.25am an then we just wait at airport until 18.40 for our flight !|So we agreed. So now the holiday had been jinxed and everyone in the hotel was down and not happy ,|I used the aap on live chat was told a rep would attend and guess what No rep ever showed up!|Meanwhile EASY JET AND JET 2 was contacting the clients and emailing them even a jet 2 rep came to help and deal with the situation I have photos to prove and met people who said I could use there correspondence if needed.|Then on Sunday they pretty much stripped and removed sunbeds from beach and parasols, in the afternoon we sore a golf cart thing removing kitchen items by the load full! Sunday Monday Tuesday the food supply got worse with limited selection, no labels put above food anymore, food looked to be reused as lunch dinner came hard bread rolls no butter ect|My wife went to the bar on Monday and was told sorry we have No drinks as have ran out, so was now on limited options.|Forgot to mention we had a bed also missing slates ! 3 in a row to a large hole we have photos to prove|So Tuesday evening came we went down for dinner to find soggy chips with squirting cheese on classed as French fries I was told but clearly a cover up of re heated lunch along with no bread and limp looking salad , then the best bit cups and glasses cutlery was being boxed up and taken away yes not even a cup to put my tea or coffee in , with only about 20 glasses left available photos to prove,|Wednesday morning breakfast well limited to say the least my wife said what have you got there !! Well make up your own mind am I in the wrong Tui Atlantica Kolymbia...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've just got back from Atlantica Kolymbia Beach after staying there for 9 nights.|With just a few tweaks, based on our experience, this would be a 5/5 rating from us.|We arrived at the hotel at about 2am on Saturday morning, to be greeted by the night manager. He was very pleasant, got us booked in straight away and explained where our rooms were (2 double rooms). Because of the late arrival and bar/restaurant being closed, there were some sandwiches, fruit and water in our fridges.|To sum up our stay, I'll list the positives and negatives.||Positives.|Rooms were clean and tidy and were cleaned daily, with towels changed on request.|Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Nikos and Klement in the bar and the reception staff.|The quality and variety of food served every day was excellent. Usual buffet style self service with hot and cold food, as well as plenty of salads but also with a separate grill, pasta area and freshly made pizzas. Desserts are a little limited but plenty of flavours of ice cream on offer.|Beach towels are collected from the onsite shop and can be exchanged every other day using a card which is stamped. The shop itself is well stocked with plenty of things you might need while you're on holiday or gifts to bring home. Also friendly staff.|Beach is literally next to the snack bar and is clean and tidy (pebbles not sand).|Between 10-6 there is a snack bar near the pool serving all inclusive drinks and food.|The area of the snack bar also doubles as the a la carte restaurant in the evening which you need to book in advance (1 free visit for all inclusive guests). The food and service were excellent at the a la carte restaurant.|In the restaurant, bar and snack bar there are filtered water machines, so cold fresh water whenever you want - a very nice surprise.|The outside areas of the hotel are also well maintained, including the pool area.|Having not been to Rhodes and specifically Kolymbia before, we weren't sure of the surrounding area but there are a few bars and restaurants close by as well as the main area of Kolymbia about 10-15 minutes walk away, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. So location is pretty good.||Negatives.|There is only 1 pool which is fairly small for the size of the hotel, however it was never overcrowded, most likely due to the beach being so close.|Sunbeds on the beach, although part of the hotel cost 7.50 euro each, so 30 euro per day for the four of us.|We were only able to keep 1 room on, for our late departure. I appreciate this depends on how busy the hotel is and can be luck of the draw. However, we could only keep the one room from 11am-2.30pm, and for a cost of 60 euros.|This would not have been too bad but there is no courtesy room at the hotel which was a surprise, again for the size of the hotel.|So after we all got showered and changed and checked out, we were waiting from 2.30pm until our pick up at 8.30pm. We sat in the bar and played cards for most of this time. Not too bad with two older teenagers but probably not great if you've got smaller children.|The only alternative suggested to us, was to have a shower at the side of the pool (cold water) and get dressed in the toilets downstairs from reception.||Overall, a lot more positives than negatives but the lack of use of a courtesy room meant we felt a bit trapped inside for the last 6 hours, not wanting to put sun cream on to be able to go outside and then not be able to have a shower before going to the airport.||I would definitely recommend Kolymbia Beach and if you have an earlier flight home, the main down side to our holiday wouldn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have just got back and it was a lovely hotel, great views and never once had any problem getting a sunbed at either the pool or beach (regardless of what time of day you turn up) We had a family room which was great and really spacious. There are no English channels on the TV. If you are looking for a hotel with lots of entertainment this is not going to be the hotel for you. The main tour operator for this hotel is an italian one. There are lots of Italian reps about, they make a big fuss of Italian guests but nobody else and don't include any other nationality. There is an amphitheatre there but it's just for Italian guests and all in Italian. At the lobby bar sometimes they had a duo singing but this was not every night. The walk to town is probably a 15 min walk (in the heat it's a little unbearable) so if back at the hotel it could get a little boring if no entertainment. Just a few minor points that we found a little annoying. The all inclusive drinks are served in really small paper cups and the drink is gone in 3 sips. The food was OK, we found something to eat at every mealtime but it was all a bit repetitive but I guess that's what you get on an all inclusive. The fresh pizza was good! The toaster at breakfast time didnt work (ever). They did have a cocktail list included but didn't really find them particularly good, again served in tiny paper cups. If you had wine it never seemed to be chilled (always warm) which in blisteringly hot heat you just want everything to be super cold. The beach bar was nice but the staff there never seemed to be able to crack a smile. We found it quite amusing, it would always be our daily thing to see if we could get them to smile, on one day it was close but we never managed it! The staff at the lobby bar were much nicer and friendlier and smiled when serving you. In particulqr in the evening a very nice waitress would come to your table and ask if you wanted any more drinks which was really nice. On the last day our flight was late in the evening and we were unable to keep our room as the hotel was apparently full but we were advised we could continue to use the hotel facilities and the all inclusive until our coach picked us up so we paid the hotel next door 30 euros for 3 hrs so we could go and change and have a shower. After this we came back and I tried to get a drink at the beach bar (I was still wearing my all inclusive wrist band but Konstantinou looked at me like I was completely crazy and refused to serve me. He spent about 10 mins on a call whilst the queue got bigger and bigger and then came back to me saying he couldnt speak to anyone and still refused to allow me a lemonade and said I would have to go to reception. At this point I just said ' don't worry about it' as was not prepared to walk all the way to reception and back. Wouldnt mind but its not like i hadnt ordered drinks from him everyday and i still had my wristband on!!!! Whilst this was happening my husband had no problem getting snacks for us in the other queue š. Got to be honest, this was really annoying and unnecessary especially as I explained everything to him (not great). Would I go back again? Probably not but having said that we did have a nice holiday and we thank all of the staff that were helpful and did manage to crack a smile. The staff in the restaurants were also very god and worked really hard to...
