Coming to this beach for more than 10 years. This season it’s a fraction of comfort for the double price. The sunbeds are a disaster, so heavy it is almost impossible to move them just a bit into the shadow of umbrella. Not happy sight of the elderly sitting on the edge of the sunbed catching a piece of shadow unable to manipulate with wooden beds. The mattresses are stained after one season and long to dry. There is a reason the sunbeds of aluminum and plastic net are mostly used - they are easy to manipulate, to clean and to dry. The sunbeds expanded to the whole beach so the non-paying visitors lay between the beds occupying our 20-euros-worth shadows. Also the occupancy is half the seasonal standard of last ten years so the gradual price increase seems to be more acceptable than this jump. I remember from past years a pad or whatever you call it, some layer material on the sand at one end of the beach, that can help taking little boats from water but also help wheelchair users get into the water, that is not there anymore so you need strong helpers if handicapped. The music is unnecessarily loud, while not annoying when vibey classics remakes are played, in last days the best of recent tiktok soundtracks is played at least three times a day - not exactly the vibe I’ve seen mentioned somewhere here, just another bar playing what the employees want to listen. Didn’t try the bar yet, but it’s usually almost empty, no wonder as the prices doubled. More seats are exposed to the sun, so not a place for lunch, the whole restaurant is open to the wind, so not a place for evening cocktail after the beach day. There are certainly people who will return to this place because of the bay beach but overally the redesign is a fail and killed the friendliness and vibe of the place. BTW does anyone know what happened to Kostas and the two lovely ladies operating the bar...
Read moreThis beach was stolen. This used to be a lovely place, which I had been gladly returning to over the last 10+ years almost every summer. Now it was taken over by some corporation, which "upgraded" it and is charging appalling prices for inadequate service. They have replaced the sunbeds and umbrellas with fancy wooden ones. The only improvement of the sunbeds is, that they are somewhat more comfortable with thick mattresses, on the other hand, the thick mattresses are also absorbing all the water from your swimwear, so you are practically sitting on a wet sunbed whole day. Also, they are very heavy to manipulate, so if you would like to avoid scorching yourself in the sun for the whole day and move into the shadow as the sun progresses, you are not in luck. And I have never seen the personnel helping anyone to move, not even the older couples who used to favour this beach before this. For this "comfort" you are paying 20e per day (for two beds and umbrella). Now, we have seen the prices gradually increasing over the years from about 5e to 10e last year, which I guess can be expected, but this year on year jump to the double amount is pure piracy. And not worth it. We also used to buy coffee, ice cream or apres swim cocktails from the restaurant before, there was always nice, friendly, chatty staff there and the prices were adequate. We would have gladly done so again, but we just did not feel like paying 10e for a cocktail, just like in Switzerland (which I incidentally visited also this summer and which is the most expensive country in Europe). I do not understand this policy, frankly. The beach and the restaurant were half empty for the whole two weeks we spent there, while they both used to be very lively and frequented by all types of guests. It is a great pity and I am very sorry one of my favourite summer holiday places was...
Read moreExtensive menu with lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. The food felt fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend the dragonfruit smoothie, absolutely delicious. Comfortable restaurant with shade and breeze. The vibe was relaxed and chilled out. Service was polite and helpful, though we did struggle to get the attention of anyone when we wanted to pay and leave. The only problem was that they allow people to smoke in the restaurant which, for a nonsmoker, is horrible to suffer when trying to enjoy your food. Perhaps this is a cultural thing rather than an issue with this place specifically but it did spoil my experience. The beach is lovely, very calm clear water and soft sand. Sunbeds are €20 for two and a parasol, very comfortable though heavy to move around if you're chasing the shade/sun. You can order food and drink to your sun...
