Golden Wok — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Restaurant was nice, clean and authentic. Service was brilliant however the food was the dry and bland. We ordered a mixed fried starter which was all well overcooked and dry, the duck and pancakes came next and it tasted like it had all been sat out all day, even the cucumber slithers for the pancakes were dried out. For the main we had a special fried rice and special fried noodles between us, the noodles were the nicest tasting thing but not proper chow mein, more like 10p packet noodles from the supermarket. The rice was bone dry again - wasn't aware rice could even be that dry and still cooked. Overall it was a disappointingly bad Chinese considering the restaurant was further out of the town, you'd think they would have really nice food to keep business going. €6 for 6 borrowers sized triangles of prawn toast, dripping with oil. €12 for a small portion of chicken curry with hardly any actual curry sauce(had to order extra curry sauce) & it was bland & was more like a gravy than a curry. Special fried rice which had barely seen a wok & didn’t even have prawns in it. Husband said his chop suey was passable but he only got a handful of fries which weren’t cheap. Daughter’s duck was dry, she wasn’t given enough sauce or pancakes for the duck. Food went cold quick too because of aircon blasting down on us. Avoid. The environment and service were fine but the food was terrible. We were greeted by friendly attentive staff. We ordered chicken rolls to start that arrived and was basically a chicken croquette (breadcrumbs!) served with "dipping sauce" of mayonnaise. It could have been out of a frozen bag from a supermarket it was that poor. For main course we ordered beef with oyster sauce that was really beef with beef stock and corn starch. This was bad takeaway food and to serve people this as a meal??? The table staff were nice and no blame could be attached to them but the food seemed systematic of a bad restaurant.
