The cliche home from home is probably over used but that is certainly the case about this villa. We stayed here for six nights in No. 2 and it was an absolute pleasure. Everything we had read beforehand and the pictures on the Internet are accurate and, if anything, don't do it full justice. We were very comfortable indeed and will definitely return. ||||Location – excellent, one minute down to the beach and a 10 minute walk up the hill to the old town. It is a little steep but we found it easier as the days went by and appreciated the exercise. The villa is easy to find if you know and prepare beforehand. As you drop down into the town, there is a very sharp left turn immediately before the Main Square. Turn in there, follow the road for about 400 m. And it is just on your right 200 m before the beach. It has free parking in the ground and the gate for security. ||||Villa – as with a lot of Greek accommodation it is quite basic but very comfortable and has everything you need. There is kitchen facilities with crockery and cutlery, and excellent fridge freezer, safe, the bed was very comfortable indeed. The real winner though is the outside area. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for our entire today and it was a delight. The two sunbeds are very comfortable, there is a big umbrella two more tables and four chairs. You are in the gardens and surrounded by beautiful flowers, plants and herbs. We used the latter in a lunchtime salad which just added to the experience! ||||Wi-Fi – three and four on unlimited devices. Really good quality and I was able to stream sports so email and Internet is no problem whatsoever. ||||Noise – very little at all. They may be more when there are other guests in the property but it was dead quiet when we were there. Outside there is a little road noise but not much and you're more likely to be hearing the braying donkeys than...
Read moreAs a regular visitor I'm used to the basic accommodation offered in Lindos and to be honest quite fed up with the lack of self catering facilities offered in many of the self catering appartments. On other visits I've had to bring my own tea towels, washing up sponges, hand soap, and even my own cutlary knowing that those available would not be useable and then try to prepare meals on those darn near useless hot plates!!......But not this year!! Knowing that I'd be cooking most days my husband and I looked for accommodation with proper kitchen facilities but still close to the beach and Vila Galini came up trumps!!||The apartment was spotless.||There was a large tv and DVD player that I used for my yoga sessions and my husband used to watch a late night post drinking session of Cobra Kai on Netflix!!||There were traditional Lindos sofas but also 2 large arm chairs which I'm not kidding were the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in.||The kitchen was fully equipped with a proper fridge/freezer, again spotless.||Water and orange juice were provided.||There was a microwave,a proper cooker a toaster, a coffee machine and even a washing machine.||Good range of kitchen utensils, although if I were to be really picky I would have liked a few more sharp knifes and some various sized oven dishes (I have dietary restrictions therefore have to cook for myself most days those provided would suit the majority of people).||The main bathroom was modern with a fantastic shower (no yucky shower curtain here).||The house keeper Maria was lovely and came everyday with fresh towels.||The balcony was fantastic with shade, a table and comfy chairs, 2 lovely sunbeds and a stunning view of the Acropolis.||This is the very best accommodation that I've stayed in during 25 years of visiting Lindos.||Thank you so much, we'll...
Read moreThis was our 7th time staying in Villa Galini (over an 18 year period). We absolutely love the villa and always rent apartment 3 which has fantastic views across to the Acropolis of Lindos. Very comfortable accommodation with new bathroom and kitchen since our last stay (pre covid in 2019). |Maria (housekeeper) is an absolute gem and cleans everyday. The family who owns the villa is very welcoming and fantastic hosts. You have a 70 meter walk to the gorgeous sandy beach with crystal clear water and there are a number beach taverna's. 5 minute walk up the hill to the old Lindos town with its gorgeous white washed alley ways, supermarkets, restaurants and roof top bars. No to mention the Acropolis!|Easy to get to with local bus from Rhodes town to the top of the square then a 2 minute shuttle bus down to the old town. There is car parking on site and everything you could need in the villa including fully equipped kitchen.|We are reluctant to write this review as we want to keep this little piece of paradise to ourselves but that would be selfish!! We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Galini and wish we could be back there sitting on the verandah, listening to the donkeys and enjoying the beautiful beach a few steps away. We will definitely be returning for our 8th stay when we make our way from Australia again. Thank you Panos, Antonis and family for another wonderful stay at your beautiful Villa Galini....
