What a little gem with the most breathtaking views. Our room was very homely, in fact the cotton floral sheets reminded me of my own granny's house in Ireland. Felt so homely and safe! Was it 5 star, no was there ants yes there was! But get real I didn't pay 5 star prices! I paid for an authentic greek experience and as the building is likely nearly as old as the acropolis it isn't designed to keep ants at bay! But we weren't over run and they never bothered us!! The bathroom is clean and tidy and it is small and the shower head is not attached to the wall and by the end the shower curtain was stuck to you and left like a wet room when finished, however we found this funny and just added to our experience! We were only there for 2 days and it was a perfect location! Right under the acropolis and 5 mins down the hill to palas beach which we loved snorkeling around the little harbour! The roof terrace was beautiful and we saved money by getting street food and eating it in peace on our own terrace! The star of the show is the owner Christina! She greeted my daughter and I like 2 long list family members with 2 ice cold bottles of water and when we left we had the warmest goodbye! There are shared, basic cooking facilities, patios & garden with orange & lemons trees - so multiple outside areas to sit / eat. Our triple bedded room (no.4) was duel aspect towards the sea, with en-suite (no window) bathroom with shower. small fridge / freezer, wardrobe, desk / table. we asked for extra pillows, adaptor for UK plug, an extra table lamp, extra blanket - all of which were given with love. Daily room cleaning, fresh bedclothes, towels etc. if required (except Sunday).|She is a charming lady, speaks little English but still we were able to make good friends with her. |IDEAL LOCATION on the edge of the village, close to the sea. LA PEGGIOR ESPERIENZA DELLA MIA VITA A parte il terrazzo, condiviso ma panoramico e fresco, penso che sia stato il posto peggiore dove abbia mai pernottato in 25 anni di viaggi, in Italia e all'estero. La casa è un bunker, senza finestre, un caldo che ti soffoca. 10 giorni in cui io, mia moglie e le bimbe ci siamo svegliati alle 5 di notte sudati e nervosi dal caldo. C'è l'aria condizionata, è vero, ma dura pochi minuti, poi si spegne. E non si può alzare o abbassare la temperatura. E c'è un ventilatore a pala sotto al soffitto che se metti velocità 2 sembra stia cadendo. Bagno piccolo e molto più caldo di una sauna. Il letto matrimoniale sarebbe un materasso messo a terra. Con una piccola finestra senza protezione per i bambini, quindi da tenere chiusa. Le foto ingannano moltissimo. Nelle inclusioni, poi, ci sono cose che nella realtà non esistono come l'angolo cottura, la tv a schermo piatto, la vista mare dalla stanza, il bollitore, stendipanni ecc. Ci sono due “mini cucine” al piano terra e sul terrazzo, ma sono in comune. Sempre aperte e quindi a disposizione dei gatti che stanno in zona. Mai pulite e con pentole vecchie e rotte. L'arredamento non ne parliamo, del 1800. Tavoli e sedie prese forse dai rifiuti. La pulizia è un parolone: ogni mattina viene la signora Cristina a “pulire”, ovvero mette a posto le lenzuola. Stop. Mai una lavata a terra. Mai. E la domenica nemmeno il cestino svuotano. Insetti in ogni angolo, dalle formiche pure sul piano cottura, ai grilli e cavallette.
